I grew up on those foods too. There were 7 kids to feed so Mom stretched as far as she could. I am talking about home made mac and cheese. Not the boxed stuff . the cheddar cheese that she used was too strong. My dad loved it but I couldn't stand it!I did like grilled cheese sandwiches with American cheese. That was ok. But I also hated bean soup! We had that about once a month and split pea soup less often. My mom made everything from scratch(This was the 50's) I never even had a tv dinner until after I was married!

My kids loved Kraft mac and cheese. When they were little
(in the early 70's) Kraft cost 19 cents a box! A can of Campbell's Soup was about 29 cents. The good old days!

Only 1 thing.....spinach. I love it now.

I loved my veggies as a child (and still do)! My mom hated broccoli and Brussels sprouts until I got her to try them when I was little. I guess that's why I'm a vegetarian now. I can't get enough veggies!

My Mom only served canned spinach when I was a kid, and I hated it! Than out on my own I was introduced to fresh spinach, spinach salad, YUMMY, and so healthy !Funny thing is I DO really like canned spinach now too! My Mom always served broccoli, I always loved that! But never Brussels Sprouts in my home growing up.I got into them as an adult too. My Son's for the most part like most vegetables too!

When I was a baby even through my childhood dinnertime was always a struggle for me because there were so many foods I disliked but I had to eat it. Take for instance when I was a baby my mother would always give me peas but I would always throw them on the floor and make a mess and even today I still dislike peas and other vegetables. Then as I grew up my mom would give me beans but I wasn't too crazy about them but now the only beans i'll eat are refried beans. I also have a dislike for pasta and the pasta I most dislike is spaghetti but the only pasta I eat is macaroni and cheese.

I used to not want to eat broccoli either; now, it's one of my favorite vegetables, and I like it the same ways you do.

When I was youngster a long time ago, I always hated pierogies. Never would even touch one. I decided to try one to see if it was really that good. I tried one and tell the truth, it was pretty good

I didn't like broccoli as a kid, they served it in our grade school lunch and it was like boiled, limp & watery, very gross. Now I like steamed or raw broccoli.
