ABC Boss on "Nashville's" Cancellation

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey was asked to address the decision to cancel "Nashville" during the network’s executive session at TCA.

She hinted that the reason behind the cancellation was largely financial.



“Nashville I personally really loved, so for me personally the cancellation was a heartbreak,” Dungey said. “But there were challenges, there were a lot of things to consider. We had a lot of conversations with Lionsgate TV and ABC Studios, but it became clear it would be something we could work out.”

Dungey said she is “thrilled that Nashville will continue” and that she “will watch it on CMT.”
