Default I've had enough of this dude!

I hadn't posted here in a while, but I need to vent about this. There is a security guard in the lobby of the building I work at, he's very two-faced! I chit-chat with him about lots of things in the world, but whenever he see's fat people approaching (especially women) he starts making fun of them! I think it's very unprofessional and childish! This guy is close to 50, so he's need to grow up. It is very consistant! There are times where a fat person asks him a question on who they need to see, he will direct them and when they get on the elevator he will make fun of them because they are fat. For example, when they get on the elevator, he will say things like, "I know I will have to call for service on the elevator because it's going to break down," and other time a couple came through a heavy set lady and her slim husband, he mentioned to me that It should be motivation for the woman to lose weight since her husband is thin. And since we can see the street from the lobby, and if he sees a fat person passing, he will crack up laughing. And last winter, a heavy set woman fell near his desk, she was in pain, he was outside smoking, I ran to get him, he did nothing but laugh and said there was nothing he could do except call the building manager and "he didn't want to break his back trying to lift her up!"

I think I'm going to stop chit-chatting with this guy. I'm not fat by any means, but I feel bad for the people he makes fun of and it's never funny when he teases fat people! He needs to do his job and stop making fun of people because they are fat!

There are a few things you can do...

Stop hanging out with this man. I would have recommended you discuss his humor towards large people with him, but I can tell from your rant, he's not about to change his views. Which by the way he is entitled to have, just his sharing jokes and tasteless observations with others in the building that employs him is an issue. If he shares this with you, who else is hearing it? If it were my building, I wouldn't want this man expressing such things to anyone else in the building. And if he can't keep his personal opinions to himself, perhaps it's best for the building if he went to work somewhere else. Consider discussing this with someone in management or higher. It could be your word against his. It could be there's already an established pattern of this being reported. In any event, nothing will ever happen, if no one brings the issue to attention.

Now, the evil plan!
Bring the guy doughnuts, carnival treats, that Crispy Cream bacon cheeseburger. Get the guy fat himself. After some time on his new diet, feed him laxatives or something. I know, the evil plan needs work, but maybe you see where I'm going with this. Make him the lard ass of his own jokes.

Yeah, I pass him everyday on my way to the elevator, so I had been sort of forced to talk him. I mentioned I've had enough and won't talk to him. I may pretend to be on my phone when I pass him so that could prevent me from stopping and conversing with him. But the fat jokes and comments are too much.

By the way, I may "consider" your evil plan!

I know, right? Every time, I mean every time we chat, he has to crack a fat joke or comment about someone, it gets very tiring.

That is a cute way of basically telling the security guard to go f*** himself.

I dislike people who make unkind remarks like that-I'd probably just tell the guard I don't like those remarks and don't want to hear them. And have AS LITTLE to fo with him as possible. He sounds untrustworthy and a bully.

GarfieldKool, did you tell the person that the fat jokes offend you? If he really was your friend, the person would abide by your wishes.

We're not exactly friends. I just conversate with him in passing since we're in the same building. No I hadn't told him. I'm not personally offended, I'm offended for the people he's making fun of. For now, I'm just going to distant myself away from him and not stopping to chat with him.

Sounds like he is just a miserable and toxic individual; he has to put others down because ,deep down inside, he probably doesn't feel too good about himself.

I think that's the case. He never takes any time off and he works every holiday if it falls on the weekday. Ask him what he's doing on weekends he will tell you, "nothin'"

That is most probably the case! People with low self esteem love to make fun of others . Or they tend to gossip incessantly . That's only to make themselves think that others are worse people than they are.

The guy is a JERK!

Sounds like a pretty good assessment to me; many self-haters project it outward.

Now before everyone bashes security guards. I am one. I am actually an account supervisor. Which means I have 14 officers under me that have to answer to me 24/7/365 and if I knew that any one of them disrespected anyone they will be out of a job. Now this chump has a boss. I'd ask for the boss' name because he has to disclose that and I'd make a complaint.
