Default Record movies from Netflix

Hey guys

Just a little question for you guys. Is it possible to save some videos from Netflix? I know that they do not provide offline services until the end of this year. I'll be on vacation for 3 weeks and we do not have any wifi so i was wondering if there is a possibility to record some movies?

Some experiences?

The biggest news to me here is they're going to allow offline viewing later this year :O I'll be damned! The Netflix CEO said early this year as long as he's running Netflix it would be a cold day in hell before he allows offline viewing and he didn't give a damn if Amazon allows it. Well well I guess he got bitched out and at big time! Good on the consumers, I felt he needed to offer offline viewing the same day Amazon began allowing it. It really does make Amazon Video a killer app. I'd imagine his stubborn attitude started costing Netflix subscribers. I'll not lie I've been considering Prime Video myself because of the Netflix CEO's attitude. It will definitely help me actually get several of the shows I have on my Netflix queue actually watched.

As for your question....wellllp there used to be ways to download/directly capture video off Netflix and other sites. But, Mr. Fantastic CEO plugged those holes a while back. You might come across some forum posters claiming there's some software that can get around the blocking but I wouldn't touch it. Netflix, Amazon and all the major tv networks have been using the RMTP streaming protocol, at least I believe that's the name of it. At first, you could capture any RMTP video stream out there then everyone gradually started blocking that. There's no reliable way currently that I know of to capture the video. Looks like we'll have to wait for offline downloading this Fall! It just makes sense..some don't have good internet connection speeds at all that aren't ideal for streaming but still want to use Netflix so this will allow many to get actual use out of their subscriptions. iTunes allows downloading locally for offline watching, Amazon allows it...it's about time Netflix allowed it too. Even if it ends up being a little extra for offline watching I'll happily pay it.

Carly,

Is there anything in particular that you want to see? That goes for either movies or TV series. I can look it up for you and give you the links to that page so that you can watch anything you like from anywhere for free right from here. If you like older sitcoms from the 50s to the 80s like I do, you can see lots of them from the links that I have at the bottom of my page (the ones that say "Classic TV" and "Cartoons"---and coming soon "Game Shows"!) and you can request more if you like. You won't find a deal like that anywhere!

Do you have to have an internet connection to watch those links?

I don't know because I've never tried to do anything offline. But my links are all free and safe. I can always tell right away if they're not (like that Audials Moviebox program that was mentioned before) in which case I never use them again and replace them with better options if they don't work. So you don't have to worry. Just sit back and enjoy.

(By the way, MRPITT, congrats to the Penguins for winning the Stanley Cup. Crosby and Kessel are the greatest.)

Cool set up thanks for sharing.

( BTW MRPitt is in reference to the Seinfeld character. The Penguins did have a great season though)

When I record from Netflix, I do it the old-fashioned way...

I use my VCR and record the show or movie. VCR'S can STILL come in handy, I have 20 year-old cassettes and they play fine....
