Is anyone familiar with this story? He is a 2 year old boy who went missing at an Idaho campground near the Montana border last July (the case is a few days away from being eligible to be put up on the Charley Project). The case is featured on the cover of the current edition of People magazine.
The parents claimed they left him in the care of the other 2 adults in the group while they went off to explore, however those people say they thought the child was with the parents. The three main theories in the case are foul play at the hands of someone in the group, abducted by an unknown party, or death as the result of some animal. Authorities are stating the parents version of events keeps changing and their polygraphs indicated deception. It does appear that there is a possibility the parents are innocent, however. They seemed choked up in every picture I've seen of them, and they also wore custom-made t-shirts with pictures of their son on them and are reportedly begging for anyone with info to come forward. There are a lot of comments elsewhere online from people alleging they have inside info, but those are unsubstantiated at this time. |

I'm shocked it took People magazine this long to pick up this story. That kid has been on my Facebook feed pretty much on a nonstop basis since last year. Must be a regional thing. |

The border thing is an interesting aspect. A potential abductor could have taken him to another state in literally minutes. |

I was skimming the People magazine article while standing in line at the grocery store recently -- the parents seem pretty sketchy...you have the extremely rare situation (nowadays) of law enforcement actually *naming them as suspects.* That almost never happens these days; LE usually says they "may or may not be persons of interest" or some other vague statement that won't hinder a prosecution or invite a lawsuit. You have the fact that mom recently remarried, reportedly lost custody of 2 prior children and dad has (I think?) moved away from the area. Also, I don't think there are any actual witness accounts of anyone seeing the child at the campsite (besides the 4 adults who claim they took the child camping).

Klein Investigations became involved searching for DeOrr, Jr. some time back (I think they were working for the family, idk). Phillip Klein is the person who (allegedly) located Olivia Newton-John's ex-BF. Klein uses some pretty unconventional methods.
I'm not sure DeOrr was ever at the campsite. Maybe the trip was made as a way to cover up whatever happened to him. Wasn't the trip impromptu? Who takes a spur-of-tbe-moment camping trip with a grandfather suffering from possible dementia and his 20 years younger sex offender friend? Here is an interesting, but long read. Apparently there was blood found on the bumper and wheel base.

To answer some of the questions above:
-Yes, the trip was impromptu. The dad had reportedly wanted to spend the weekend chopping wood for his father, but the wife had convinced him to go on this excursion instead. The father states he and Isaac (the friend of his great grandfather) got off on the wrong foot and he felt uneasy and wanted to leave right away. -I'm not sure if the dad moved away, but I read in the People magazine article that he HATES Idaho, presumably because that's the state this happened in, and there's been lots of rumors of his suspected involvement there. -I'm also not sure if there are zero witnesses to Deorr Jr. being on the campsite. That would suggest that all 4 of the adults are in on this, which seems pretty far-fetched. That being said, I'd like to have some more information as to what exactly were the parents supposedly shifting stories and why LE thinks they are lying. If they made untruthful statements, what were they? |
