Anybody have an idea as to what Viacom is trying to do with Logo? It's gone from an LGBT lifestyle channel to basically a classic/"modern classic" TV channel. They show:
Golden Girls 227 A Different World I Dream of Jeannie Bewitched All in the Family Three's Company Roseanne Soap Facts of Life The Nanny Will & Grace They still have some original programs that air in primetime but those shows combined make up most of the schedule now. Is this Viacom's answer to TV Land's accelerated evolution to focusing on single-camera sitcoms for younger audiences? It's just really funny that they've mostly phased this type of programming out on one channel (TV Land) only to be adding it to another one (Logo) and shifting their focus to older programs at the same time. |

I don't get this channel anymore but it's no big deal for me. Luckily, I own most of these shows on DVD. Logo butchers their shows way too much with unnecessary edits just to add more commercials.

I been putting some announcements for Logo for a little when Brady Bunch used to air on Logo for short time, but it later on it got pulled. I added those on Brady Bunch section but I had a feeling nobody listens to me.
Plus the articles that was posted on sitcomsonline for Viacom turnaround and how it's falling apart mentions |

I'm glad they're putting on more sitcoms. That's the only reason I would ever watch that channel.

I don't understand why AITF is on Logo. But I agree with TLC. Logo edits the hell out of there shows which is a shame because they have some good shows on there.

I can't figure out why my parents get Logo and I don't. Same thing with Centric. We both have Dish and we both have the same package. The only reason that I can think of is that they have a much nicer TV than I do, but I wouldn't think that would make a difference. |

I just got it today on Sling and I'm not too impressed. They run shows off the clock with extra commercials and put generic credits on the end scene rather then show the full credits with the theme. It seems all Viacom networks are this way. I noticed the Three's Company opening theme was sped up a little and was also the short syndicated version. And I also got MTV2 with Sling and was watching Everybody Hates Chris, which is much newer and each episode only lasts about 19-20 minutes, yet they treat it just as bad as the classics by giving extra commercials and skipping the closing credits and theme and running it off the clock. I don't know why they feel the need to do all this editing and extra commercials.i am very disappointed in Viacom.
I say we need a new president that can "Make Television Great Again" and do away with off the clock programming, excess commercials, butchering, and credit crunching. |

Logo has been slowly phasing out its focus on the LGBT community and trying to become more of a general entertainment channel. Although some of their primetime programs still focus on the LGBT community as a whole it no longer identifies as a LGBT network anymore.

The last time I tried to catch 227 on Centric the number of commercial breaks was mind-boggling.
I was so disgusted I haven't tuned it in since.

Seems like most Viacom networks (except for maybe Comedy Central and BET) stray from their roots and become generic cable channels with the same shows you can see elsewhere.
Last time I tried to watch a movie on a Viacom channel (it was either CC or MTV), there was a commercial break literally every 10 minutes, and the breaks lasted for a good 4-5 minutes themselves. No thanks. Their haphazardly placed commercials are another reason for me to never watch their channels. Just sloppy all around. |
