One of my mother's favorite movies is Arthur and my mother's favorite song is The Best That You Can Do and this song inspired me to find out more about Christopher Cross because it's really a shocking surprise that Christopher Cross hasn't done much in music anymore because the only songs that are well known by Christopher Cross are Sailing Never Be The Same and Ride Like The Wind and the theme from Arthur. And Christopher Cross's debut album is a classic today

Lots of times, when PBS airs their Burt Bacharach special, you can see Christopher singing "The Best That You Can Do" (Arthur's Theme) with Carole Bayer Sager (and Burt at the piano). Carole does backup.

I like Cross' stuff, especially "Never Be the Same" and "Sailing."

Yeah I like his song Sailing too. After that and the song from the movie Arthur he just completely disappeared from the music scene and I'm not sure why. He had a good singing voice too.

This one wasn't written about Laura Spencer from General Hospital, they asked for permission to use the song on the show after it was released.

Thank you very much for the info about Christopher Cross. My aunt had his debut album on record and I thought it was nice that Christopher Cross would put a flamingo on the album cover. Were flamingos Christopher Cross's favorite animals? I also knew about the song Think Of Laura because my mom and I are soap opera fans and we had that song on a cassette and I never realized it was about the character Laura from General Hospital. And here's another fact about Christopher Cross's song Sailing. NSYNC also does an amazing remake of Sailing and when you listen to it you'll be surprised at how well NSYNC sings Sailing and is one of the best covers of a Christopher Cross song made
