Default Top 5 DAYTIME soaps

What are your top 5 favorite DAYTIME soaps?

My list:

1. Days of our Lives (I've watched this soap since 1995. I know more about this show than any decent human should lol. My absolute favorite.)
2. All My Children (My Granny used to watch this soap EVERY day. She got me hooked. I didn't watch it every day but I watched enough of it to know what was happening in Pine Valley.)
3. Passions (I know this is a cheesy soap but that's why I love it.)
4. Sunset Beach (Cheesy, too, but I love cheese.)
5. Port Charles (The first few years were great. I didn't care for it once they started the vampire storylines.)

1. As The World Turns- Watched since I was 8.
2. The Guiding Light
3. The Young and The Restless

I was never a Days fan but starting watching when Chandler Massey became the new Will. I catch it on occasion now to see if Sonny or Paul is on. I wish they would bring back Massey as Will since recast Will was fired. He was downright awful as Will.

1. Another World

2. Ryan's Hope

3. All My Children

4. One Life to Live

5. General Hospital

I also followed Days of Our Lives on and off for many years and the first few
years of Santa Barbara and Loving were excellent as well. Of the CBS soaps,
As the World Turns and Guiding Light were great shows in the 70's and 80's,
but I didn't follow them as much as I would have liked to. I was too busy
tuning in to the others I mentioned above. only so many hours in the day
and no DVR's back then lol

1. Dark Shadows (always number 1 for me because of the actors / actresses and the storylines)
2. All My Children (I miss Janet From Another Planet. She was probably daytime's most creative nutcase villainess)
3. Passions (Only the first 3 years before Josh Ryan Evans died. Once he died, the show lost the supernatural element. Juliet Mill's character Tabitha was wasted. It wasn't the same anymore)
4. Days of Our Lives (I only watched this show for a few years around 2000 through the end of the serial killer storyline. I watched the possession story on YouTube years ago. It isn't that bad of a show. What made me stop watching was when all the victims of the serial killer storyline turned out to be alive and on an island. It was the lamest story ever. Another thing that killed this show for me was getting rid of Craig and Nancy. They were the best and at times really hilarious couple on this show to watch)
5. Port Charles (I'm only judging from the 13 week stories like Tainted Love and Tempted. Caleb was a great addition to the show and added a new element to the series that was needed to keep it fresh and different even if it was copying stories from Dark Shadows and Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

1) As The World Turns (the best acted soap ever)
2) Young and The Restless (in its heyday)
3) Edge Of Night (no other soap had such suspense)
4) Dark Shadows (okay, my guilty pleasure)

1. Days of our Lives- i watched this soap when i was little. Likely because the game show Scrabble came on before it on NBC. I can remember Dr. Tom and Alice, but i remember Eve, the one played by Charlotte Ross before she was on The Heights. Eve could be really mean sometimes!
2. Another World- Can remember Rachel as played by Victoria Wyndham, but she wasn't a bitch like Rachel was back in the day.
3. Santa Barbara- i must have made my mom mad over me watching this soap instead of General Hospital.

1: As the World Turns. How I miss the town of Oakdale and its residents, especially Lucinda, Lily & Holden, Bob & Kim, and Barbara!

2: Guiding Light. Kim Zimmer brought so much passion to her role as Reva Shayne, and Beverlee McKinsey's Alexandra Spaulding was riveting to watch, especially her rivalry with Mindy Lewis and her hatred of Roger Thorpe!

3: Another World. My grandmother never missed this show so I watched it with her as a child when I stayed with her during school breaks. I wanted to live in the Cory mansion with Rachel and her family!

4: All My Children. I found myself watching clips of AMC on YouTube this past week! Of course, Susan Lucci's Erica Kane was the top draw, especially her tense rivalry with Brooke. Loved Adam & Stuart, the Great Tornado & the great character of Opal. Aunt Phoebe was always a hoot, as was Myrtle.

5: The Young & The Restless. Still the Number One show on daytime (mainly because there are only 4 soaps left on the air. ) This was the show that got me through college! I'd watch it late at night during cram sessions. It has always been Nikki's World and her eternal May-December romance with tycoon Victor Newman. I haven't watched an episode since Jeanne Cooper (the great Katherine Chancellor) passed away, and they've turned Victor into a cartoon villain. Without Katherine, the show has lost so much of its heart & soul.

So sad that the only show still on the air is Y&R...
