Default Decades "Binge" for Father's Day Weekend: M3S!!

This coming weekend, My Three Sons will be featured on Decades as an appropriate "Binge" choice in honor of Father's Day. The series featured not only family patriarch Steve Douglas (Fred MacMurray), but also son Robbie (Don Grady) who fathered triplets. Steve eventually became the father of five: Mike, Robbie, Chip, Ernie (adopted), and Dodie (stepdaughter).

Also, earlier on in b & w, Sebastian Cabot played the new father-in-law of son Mike (Tim Considine) -- and late in the series, Norm Alden's character became father-in-law to Chip (Stan Livingston).

Likely all of the episodes will be from Seasons 6 through 10 (1965-66 through 1969-70), but I'm hopeful that eventually 1-5 and 11-12 will be available on Decades.

Other recent weekend Binges have included Night Gallery, Celebrity Bowling, and Vega$ (incidentally William Demarest a.k.a. "Uncle Charley" appeared on Celebrity Bowling).

Sitcom Binges in recent months included The Love Boat, The Doris Day Show, Get Smart, The Donna Reed Show, That Girl, and F Troop.

Kudos to Decades for this choice!

I forgot to mention that Bub O'Casey (William Frawley) was Steve's father-in-law. But we won't see him this weekend, unless we're lucky enough to get some black & white episodes included.

I'm hoping that eps like "Robbie and the Showgirl" and "Stag at Bay" will be included -- among the most risque Don Fedderson shows of all. Those are must-sees for fans of the female form. And of course when Katie (Tina Cole) wears a very short outfit temporarily as a "cigarette girl" -- WOW!

I might also mention for those interested that the episode where Robbie takes up ballet is very revealing of Don Grady's anatomy. With the very tight tights, it's comparable to how women on the set of Superman (1978) commented daily on which way Christopher Reeve's private anatomy was pointed...!

I'd like to see other shows besides these ones. I mean My Three Sons is good but we could all use a little variety in our TV shows. Right? I once regarded Decades as an awesome channel for classic TV shows. Not anymore

Are any episodes that aren't from Seasons 6 through 10 scheduled?

They are starting from Season 7 apparently.

I wish the marathons/binges weren't quite so long. 24 hours to sit and
see a show is too much for me.

24 hours? They're more like 40 hours, without any repeats.

I, too, wish I got Decades for the binges. I also wish VEI would release a complete series set of M3S. I would buy it.

All eps have been from Seasons 7 thru 10. Surprised that no eps from Season 6 were shown. I was also surprised that the "birth of the triplets" storyline was not included. Guest stars have included the following, with some of their beter-known TV work in parentheses:

AHN, PHILIP (Kung Fu) - Ray Wong's relative
ALLMAN, ELVIA (Petticoat Junction) - new neighbor in CA with garden hose
AMES, LEON (Mister Ed) - recurring as Katie's pregnancy doctor
ANDERSON, HERBERT (Dennis the Menace) - footrace with Steve & other dads
AUDLEY, ELEANOR (Green Acres) - recurring as Barbara's mom, Mrs. Vincent
BEGLEY SR., ED (various) - renovated the CA house upstairs for the triplets
BENJAMIN, JULIA (Hazel) - Ernie is hot for her in school
CLARKE, GARY (The Virginian) - son of Ed Begley Sr.'s character
CLAYTON, JAN (Lassie) - Ernie's teacher, wants to marry Charley & travel
DEFORE, DON (Ozzie & Harriet / Hazel) - Steve's obnoxious co-worker
FONG, BENSON (various) - recurring as Ray Wong back east, here just visiting CA
FRANKEN, STEVE (MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS) - hires Rob to sell houses
LORING, LYNN (The FBI) - kooky friend of Katie & Rob
LYNN, BETTY (The Andy Griffith Show)-prospective homebuying client of Rob's
MORAN, ERIN (Daktari / Happy Days) - bullies Dodie at school
MORGAN, JAYE P. (The Gong Show) - singer trying to update career
SUMMERS, YALE (Daktari) - Rob goes back to Bryant Park for his wedding

I hope you find this listing interesting. Maybe you'll consider me a "good man to have around the house!" Good grief / GREEFS!

My favorite scene in the entire binge: Season 10, Rob and Katie are visiting Bryant Park, and Tina Cole is able to call Rob "Don" -- his real name -- echoing the hotel clerk's error. The smile on Don Grady's face is priceless.

A few more who appeared, of course I'm missing many:

ALADDIN (The Lawrence Welk Show) - recurring violinist at the Italian restaurant frequented by Steve & Barbara

GREGORY, JAMES (Barney Miller) - Charley's old pal from the Merchant Marines

MATHERS, JERRY (LItB) and MARTIN, LORI (National Velvet) - Rob & Katie's neighbors in the new apartment

STEVENS, NAOMI - recurring host at the Italian restaurant

I did not see Joan Vohs in the binge -- she usually played a teacher. IIRC she also played a teacher on Family Affair?

Actually sometimes there are repeats within a Binge weekend. For example the Dark Shadows binge ran some of the earliest episodes twice, I think it was Saturday and Monday morning as far as repeating.

But generally yes, the idea is to show a long run of non-repeating episodes from 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon until 7 a.m. Monday.

Coming this weekend: Adventures of Superman (George Reeves, '50s series)
