Thread title character limit

The current limit including spaces appears to be 85. Is there any way to increase it? I've noticed many threads where there isn't enough room for the full title. I would suggest 100 characters if it can be done.

The current limit is 45. How about 70-75? 100 might cause some formatting problems.

I don't see any way to change the thread title limit. That's hard coded into the software.

Last Thread Title Maximum Displayed Characters
This value will chop the title of the last thread posted down to a specific number of characters for its display on a forum listing.

A value of 0 will not trim the titles at all.

If you can go 70-75 that would be more than enough. Somehow though I got 85.


I got 85 by counting the characters in this title by TMC...

Unfortunately, a lot of his titles are cutoff which is likely due to copy and paste and that's why I suggested an increase.

Hmmm I always thought staff accounts could enter a longer title on PMs,threads that reg accounts could on VBB sites...

Thats interesting TJ.... I didnt know it was a 'HARD' setting...


I currently can enter 85 characters for subject line....
