Default Shows you don't want the whole serise

If your like me you want every season of every show you buy. But still there are a few shows that you don't like the later (or earlier) seasons but you love still love the show. Mine are:

The Andy Griffith show, can't stand the color eps. Without Barney the show fall a part, how it finished in 1st place in its 8th season I'll never understand.

McMillan & Wife, again characters leave and took the charm with them. I don't like how they wrote out Sally & Mildred. Mac acted like he was never married to Sally. Without Mildred the show wasn't as funny.

Spin City, Heather Locklear was a bad actress and ruined the show. I have the fourth season but refuse to buy after that.

The Simpsons, I own more the most I think, 17 seasons that were released. I would buy to season 20 but I wouldn't get anymore if they released seasons 18 & 19.

Simon & Simon: I have the first four seasons' worth of this, and that's all I want.

Hawaii Five-O original-recipe: I have seasons 1-8, and the final one (12), and that's all I want of that. I purchased that last one just to see how bad it was in those final seasons, and after so seeing, I don't want 9, 10 and 11.

Seasons 9-11 are pretty good, but season 12 was Holy Jump The Shark Batman!

Does the last few seasons not really readily being available have anything to do with your decision?

That's how I am too. That's why I put my complete series separate in my collection. To me THAT'S my DVD collection. The other shows which are incomplete are shows-in-training to be in my collection, haha. Hopefully they'll all be completed too.

Lol yes. Exactly. There are some shows I'm incredibly getting anxious about being completed, particularly like Diff'rent Strokes, Rhoda, One Day at a Time and St. Elsewhere. I have a tendency to watch what I have complete on DVD, rather than incomplete. For example, I own Season 1 of St. Elsewhere but I've only watched about 2 episodes because I don't want to run out. But if I owned the complete series, I'd be more abpt to watch it. Make sense any lol?

I think that's the main reason why. I also think, however, that it having been said that the series declined in quality towards the end also has influenced this decision.

I agree. When the main actors leave, it is not the same.

I've run out of room and shelving, so I have my incomplete series (as well as a couple complete series) stored away in a cupboard. So I really can't take a picture of them but I'll list some that I can remember.

The Adventures of Pete & Pete: Seasons 1-2
Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Seasons 1-3
Anything But Love: Seasons 1-2
Archie Bunker's Place: Season 1
Arrested Development: Seasons 1-4 (they say a 5th season is in the works)
The Big Bang Theory: Seasons 1-4
Big Love: Seasons 1-4
Blossom: Seasons 1-2
Bonanza: Season 1 in 2 volumes
California Dreams: Seasons 1-4
Castle: Seasons 1-7 (I will be completing the series this August though)
Coach: Seasons 1-3
The Comeback: Season 1 (although I own season 2 on Amazon Instant Video)
Diff'rent Strokes: Seasons 1-3
The Donna Reed Show: Seasons 1-5
8 Simple Rules...: Seasons 1-2
Entourage: Seasons 1-6
Family Matters: Seasons 1-3 (although I own all 9 on Amazon Instant Video)
Gunsmoke: Seasons 1-8, in 15 volumes
Happy Days: Seasons 1-4
Love, American Style: Season 1, in 2 volumes
The Love Boat: Season 1, in 2 volumes
Maverick: Seasons 1-2
Mayberry R.F.D.: Season 1
The Muppet Show: Seasons 1-3
My Three Sons: Seasons 1-2, in 4 volumes
My Wife 7 Kids: Season 1
NYPD Blue: Season 1
Ned & Stacey: Season 1
Newhart: Seasons 1-2
One Day At A Time: Season 1
Petticoat Junction: Seasons 1-3
Rhoda: Seasons 1-4
The Simpsons: Seasons 1-10
'til Death: Seasons 1-3 (although I own all 4 on Amazon Instant Video)
Too Close for Comfort: Seasons 1-2
Wagon Train: Season 1
Who's the Boss?: Season 1
Whose Line Is It Anyway? (UK): Series 1-2
Whose Line Is It Anyway? (US: Season 1, in 2 volumes

That's all I can think of without opening up the cupboard and taking them all out but I know I have a bunch more. However, I have come to a point where I have more complete series than incomplete series.

For a long time King of the Hill was on that list. But just last week I ordered seasons 7-13 online and have now completed the series.

I've also added another DVD case to my DVD room, so I'll take some more pictures to show off my "Showcase" Collection on that other thread.

I don't want the last few years of Happy Days after Richie leaves. Also I'm on the fence about the last couple of years of Designing Women with Julia Duffy and then Judith Ivey.
