What are your thoughts on season nine's "Radio Free Trumaine"?

"Radio Free Trumaine" was an episode of "Married...With Children" that aired in 1995, at the tail end of "Married's" ninth season. It focused on the antics of two college radio disc jockeys, Oliver Cole and Mark Campbell (Eric Dane and Andrew Kavovit, respectively), working in the radio station (WHIP) at Bud Bundy's (David Faustino) college, Trumaine University. David Garrison made his fourth and final guest appearance (following his departure from "Married" during its fourth season) as Marcy's ex-husband Steve Rhoades; he was now the dean at Trumaine. A pre-"Felicity" Keri Russell guest-starred as Bud's dream girl, April Adams.

"Radio Free Trumaine" was clearly a backdoor pilot for a proposed spinoff; there were numerous attempts to create spinoffs from "Married," all to no avail (only 1991's "Top Of The Heap," starring Joseph Bologna, a pre-"Chasing Amy" Joey Lauren Adams, and a pre-"Friends" Matt LeBlanc, progressed beyond the backdoor pilot stage; "Heap" actually spawned a short-lived spinoff the following year called "Vinnie and Bobby," starring LeBlanc and Adams). Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and Ted McGinley appeared briefly in "Radio Free Trumaine," while David Faustino, David Garrison, and Amanda Bearse were prominently featured throughout the episode.
