I agree .you are talking 29 years vhs tapes video qualities goes down after tape has been storage for that long not to mention if it was played a lotI have a lot of tapes from 1985 and 1986 that are watchable but have lines and other minor problems. .you can't expect a perfect qualities from a tape that old . and to add to that a transfer to DVD will you will lose a little bit more of the quality of the picture too.

How would he know if he didnt ask? I have lots of VHS tapes from the 80's in excellent condition, so they do exist.

Your. Like one in a million . being that old they do wear out .just playing them will wear them out. I am really in to getting shows with original commercials i bust my butt working so i can buy old shows i know the picture is not going to be perfect sometimes when your dealing with show from the 70" s and 80" s but as long as it watchable it worth it asking for perfect high quality limits the chances of you getting it . i hope they can find what there looking for .but when you put that high of a standard On it it just makes it that much harder to find.

i do the same thing and have obtained several hundred programs from 80's in excellent condition, he has already found some.

Hey. Cool that good to know give he hope in finding more old shows . as soon as i get all my shows on DVD I be back tape trading . i have over. 837 tapes and DVD as of right now from the 40's 50's 60''s 70's and 80's . old tv show ,cartoons,movies,gameshows,sports,talkshows,news, and reruns of syndicated shows is my hobby. Or i should say my life as i hardly watch any of the new show on network tv i love watching the old stuff with oringal commercials shows . this is a hobby once you get started you can't stop. And i never want to stop.
