THey need to add another new Chicago-based show: Chicago D.O.G. - its a gripping drama about a hot dog vendor that also fights crime and has mommy issues.

"TIMELESS"

"THE GOOD PLACE"

From Michael Schur, executive producer of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Parks and Recreation" and "The Office," comes a smart, unique new comedy that follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, "House of Lies," "Veronica Mars"), an ordinary woman who, through an extraordinary string of events, enters the afterlife where she comes to realize that she hasn't been a very good person. This is Us has been picked up for a full season of 18 episodes. Wait, 18?

Generally, in U.S. broadcast television, seasons with 20 episodes or more are recognized as "full" seasons, and seasons with 19 or less episodes are "abbreviated" seasons. According to Deadline, creator Dan Fogelman has designed TiU, a heavily-serialized decades-spanning dramedy to have shorter cable-style seasons.

NBC Midseason Schedule Announced (December 8)

* The post-football NBC Sunday lineup, starting March 5, will consist of Little Big Shots, Chicago Justice, and Shades of Blue.
* Following the conclusion of its freshman season, This is Us will be succeeded in the Tuesdays-at-9-pm hour by a new comedy, Trial and Error. T&E will debut following a 90-minute telecast of The Voice on March 7 before airing back-to-back episodes in the hour from March 14 to April 18. Great News succeeds T&E in the Tuesday-at-9 hour starting April 25 and will also air back-to-back episodes.
* The DC Comics comedy Powerless is being slotted on Thursdays at 8:30 pm, succeeding The Good Place, which will have ended its freshman season by that point. Powerless will premiere on February 2.
* The Blacklist: Redemption will premiere on February 23 and air on the Thursdays at 10 pm for eight weeks. The original The Blacklist, the current occupant of that timeslot, returns April 20.
* The spring 2017 cycle of The Voice begins on Monday, February 27.
* Emerald City will premiere in January 6 and air on Fridays at 9 pm.

Because of Grimm ending after this season, is there a chance that any of the Chicago shows (Fire, P.D., Med, or even Justice) going to end up moving to Grimm‘s old Fridays-at-8 pm timeslot next season (2017-18)?

Any of the Chicago shows' current timeslots may be needed for new drama series next season. But NBC must like the Chicago shows in 9 pm or 10 pm timeslots, and they must want all of the Chicago shows to have attained enough original episodes for a good-sized syndication package. Chicago Fire early last month surpassed the 100-episode milestone.

This is the single-most entertaining thing to watch on TV right now. I've watched last night's episode (as of the time of my writing), and I can say that it gets better and better with each episode. Remember when Goran Visnjic told us that he is not the "villain"?
Well, I don't want to spoil things up but it seems that this is the case here people...

I could write a ton of things about what I like in the series, what I don't like and what could be improved... but heck, it is a great show
