Default Would you be okay with their living arrangement?

Okay, so I think everyone agrees that a guy living with two girls is not a big deal in 2016, but....

Would YOU be okay with dating someone who had roommates of the opposite sex (esp if the roommates were very attractive and the possibility of hookups was real, e.g. straight guys living with straight girls)? I'm asking both men and women what they think.

I just watched "Triangle Troubles" and realized that some people even in today's "enlightened" age might have trouble with this arrangement.

I probably would not be able to handle it, as my confidence is pretty low to begin with.

I like your honesty....in theory I think I'd be fine with it, but who knows. I guess it would depend on the people involved. For example, if I were dating a lech like Larry, I may have my doubts as to the innocence of the whole setup

Yeah I would have a hard time swallowing my girl living "platonically" with a guy even if it was for economic reasons and considering how the girls walked around in the apartment in skimpy shorts there was bound to be some hanky panky going around.

I know what you mean...it's kinda funny that I love Three's Company (which teaches the audience that men and women living together platonically is possible and acceptable) and yet in real life the situation would still be tough to get used to.

NO, i would not date a girl who lived with a woman and a guy because I would be confident that some FREAK SH*T was going on between them.

I would PLAY with a girl who lived with a guy and another girl but not be in a relationship with one

Most of my friends are women so I wouldn't have much of a problem with the living arrangements. Just my perverted mouth might get me into trouble a few times...lol.

So what you're saying is that you'd basically be like Larry

While we are on the topic of Larry, I tended to like his character. I thought a lot of his lines were quite funny.

Been there, done that. I've had male roommates and I've gone out with guys who've had female roommates. It's no big deal. If people want to hook up randomly, they'll find a partner. I had less than zero interest in either of my male roommies, and since they both had girlfriends, there was zero interest in me.

It's interesting that roommates on TV; 3s Company, Golden Girls, Friends; are always portrayed as being best buddies and hanging out with each other all of the time. In reality, these are the people you grunt at as you pass them in the kitchen on your way to work, or pass them in the doorway as you leave to hang out with your SO or friends. I was only friends with one former roommate and that wasn't the one I even worked with 40+ hours a week.

That sounds kinda sad but I realize it's the real world! Sometimes living with people is purely convenience, no camaraderie required.

Not only did I date someone who lived with the opposite sex, I married her. My wife while we were still dating lived in a house with several house mates of both sexes. Never bothered me.
