Bill Simmons' HBO Talk Show, "Any Given Wednesday", To Debut on June 22

HBO has given Bill Simmons’ anticipated talk show a debut date. The popular and opinionated sports personality, who left ESPN last spring and inked an expansive multi-year deal with HBO in July, will serve as host of the talk show "Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons".

The weekly half-hour series, which was given a 20-episode order that begins June 22 at 10pm. ET/PT, will see Simmons going one-on-one with guests from the worlds of sports and pop culture, and includes field pieces in addition to his “signature commentary on current events.”

"Any Given Wednesday" also can be watched on HBO Now, HBO Go, and HBO On Demand.

HBO Quickly Axes Bill Simmons Talk Show

HBO is sending Bill Simmons’ sports talk show to the bench. The network has cancelled "Any Given Wednesday with Bill Simmons" after just four months on the air, our sister site Variety is reporting.

"Wednesday", which saw Simmons opine on the week’s top sports stories and interview guests from both sports and pop culture, struggled to find an audience on Wednesday nights; last week’s airing pulled in a measly 82,000 viewers.

The final episode will air next Wednesday, Nov. 9th.
