Here's a list of Prince songs that I favor. It might be a short list, but only because most of his stuff is hard to come by and much of what I have heard is more of Prince's commercially successful songs/albums, as oppose to more rare output.

Purple Rain hands down.

Dirty Mind was a bit too new wave (but catchy), Controversy was all over the place, 1999 had too many filler tracks, and his later work was not to my liking outside of the hit singles.
