Glad to see "A Crime To Remember" and "Vanity Fair Confidential" are coming back. I'm also glad the ratings for the channel are quite good. Sadly, it looks like "Murder Book" has been cancelled. And where's "Unusual Suspects?" I also hope Dateline, 48 Hours and 20/20 remain on. They've been having a lot of new 20/20 episodes lately.

As for the new series, "The Deadliest Decade" definitely sounds interesting. As a child of the 80's and a fan of "A Crime To Remember", I think this one will be good. "People Magazine Investigates" sounds like it could be good.

Most of the other stuff doesn't sound terribly interesting though. And what on Earth is up with "Hard Evidence: OJ is innocent"?

Unless they're just trying to cash in on all the recent hubbub of the case, but that's bad in and of itself.

I too noticed that Unusual Suspects is not listed among the returning shows. But Homicide Hunter isn't listed, either. Both shows recently aired their respective season finales, and according to the Futon Critic web site, both shows, plus Murder Book, have the same current status: "On hiatus or fate to be determined."

It is possible that ID hadn't decided on the future of those shows in time to include them on the list. In fact, when ID announced their programming plans for 2015-16 last year, Motives and Murders: Cracking the Case wasn't on the list of returning shows. But guess what? ID is now showing new episodes of the series again; its current season began last month. So, until there's an update on the status of Unusual Suspects, Homicide Hunter, and Murder Book, let's not count those shows out just yet.

If Murder Book comes back, I wish they would treat it better in regards to scheduling. Last season was very spotty and not consistent at all.

Good for you Wiseguy. By the way, I checked out some recent Futon Critic articles about ID's recent performance in cable ratings. Unusual Suspects is cited as one of the channel's top shows for the month of January and as one of its highlights for April. So, that's a good sign. If Unusual Suspects returns for another season (which is likely), it probably won't happen until next year. But hopefully, it will be worth the wait.

I am aware of the upcoming OJ Simpson documentary, but I won't be watching it. Needless to say, the documentary is just propaganda. It goes without saying that it was made by people who, even in the face of all the overwhelming evidence, still won't believe that OJ is guilty as sin.

Naturally there still isn't one program devoted to prosecutorial overreach and misdeeds. You can see why they aren't willing to risk that route, with so many shows relying on detectives as the focal point and the heroes. Of course, that's majority true but it's ridiculous and disgraceful that not one series has been devoted to innocent people who were wrongfully convicted, and determining similarities among the batch. Imagine if they went back and showed the prosecution argument in those cases, with the defendant later proven innocent by physical evidence or other variables? It would be quite the needed jolt.

Normally I'm most outraged when people are tried and convicted based on borderline non-existent evidence and bizarre application of probability. But I have to say it has tilted the other way recently in many episodes of various programs. One obviously guilty party after another has either been wrongfully acquitted or received an absurdly low sentence.

The one that comes to mind is the young military man and lifelong gun fanatic who shot his pretty wife directly in the back of the head with a rifle while she was sitting in front of her computer. Unbelievable. The jury was gullible and stupid enough to accept a fantastic combination of events as somehow possible.

I swear, some of these lawyers are beyond incompetent with the line of questioning and emphasis. All the prosecuting attorney had to do was ask how many times that guy had held a gun in his hands during his lifetime, how many times among that sample he failed to recognize a gun was loaded, how many times among the sample he had shot it off accidentally, and so forth. Ask for specifics and watch him gulp and scramble. Then top it off with the fact that the one time all those tiny fractional variables came together at once, he happened to be aiming directly at the back of his wife's head. Sure.

Instead, the dunce attorney was pathetic during the cross, actually on the defensive. And that inept cross allowed the jury members to rationalize that sure it was possible. I would have loved to have been in that jury room, asking them to assign odds on each characteristic.

Anyway, IMO Investigation Discovery is spreading itself too thin. They should focus on more episodes each season of their best series instead of trotting out more and more new shows, many of which sound like absolute reaches.

I was hoping I would recognize some of the players in the new Las Vegas program. Not much, based on one episode. That show would have been more entertaining when David Roger was district attorney. He prosecuted the original Ted Binion murder trial.

I'm glad A Crime to Remember and Vanity Fair Confidential are coming back as well. Im sure I'm repeating myself but I'm especially impressed with Bryan Burrough and Buzz Bissinger and their stories on that show. The one about the 80s interests me too because I love the 80s.

I'm also glad Web of Lies is coming back. There are a few others I wish I will come back, Homicide Hunter of course, because Kenda rules, but it kind of sounds like they have a show replacing him with another detective's case files. I also liked Nowhere to Hide, and Deadly Women. Could be some shows will come back later. I didn't think Wives with Knives was on any more... did it skip a season or did I just miss it? And of course as mentioned Disappeared came back after being gone for a while. I also miss Who the Bleep Did I Marry and the show about first dates that went horribly wrong. I'm a little disappointed with Mind of a Murderer, I preferred Facing Evil, but I love Candice DeLong, and don't care for Michelle Ward that much. Unfortunately it sounds like there are more shows I'm not interested in than those that I am. I'm glad Evil Lives Here is coming back, I liked that, especially the one with the step mother whose step son shot up the mall. I felt so bad that she and her husband went so far as to get divorced to try and help fix this kid and of course it didn't help. I also like Evil Kin most of the time. I wish Evil Twins was coming back, but I have to wonder how many murders can there have been perpetrated by twins anyway, they've already had quite a few episodes, more than I'd think, statistically.

I agree they do spread themselves too thin sometimes, but there had been some shows I rolled my eyes at the titles but then ended up enjoying. Swamp Murders was one, I ended up liking most of those, they were usually so sad though. Southern Fried Homicide sounded lame and that one actually kind of was.

I'm going to guess they are going to keep the Dateline, 20/20 and 48 Hours on ID shows, I'd be really surprised if those were not on there any more.

As for people, I already mentioned Candice DeLong, I want more Darrin Kavinoky, M. William Phelps, and Kris Mohandie. I liked them all as presenters/commentators.

"The Deadliest Decade" sounds like the most intriguing of the new series. Good to see "Mind of a Murderer" is coming back as well as "Vanity Fair Confidential." Last season of VFC was excellent.

I hope to see the new season of Twisted/Born To Kill since it's airing over in England right now, and it would be great to have another season of Most Infamous or Very Bad Men.

Last week's episode of Perfect Murder stood out to me for two reasons. First, it featured a victim -- Henry Diaz -- who was an alumnus of my high school in Miami. The dialog early in the episode revealed that Diaz and his wife met as students at Southwest High School, albeit long after my days there.

The second variable was ridiculous and somewhat amusing. This is a Miami crime yet the actors portraying the local detectives were pure New York, accent and all. I have never seen anything like that in Miami, even prior to the massive demographic shift of recent decades. Besides, the areas involved in this case like Hialeah are among the most heavily Hispanic of all of Dade County. You couldn't find anybody in those roles in that area who didn't look Hispanic and sound Hispanic, by pure logic and necessity. I was laughing every time the New York accent and gestures were trotted out.

There's also a third aspect to that story, not mentioned in the episode. At the time of Henry Diaz' death a decade or so ago the family grocery store chain was small but well respected in the Miami area. However, a few years ago the Diaz family was charged with involvement in a massive fraud scheme, one that reached tens of millions of dollars. I forget all the specifics but it was a huge story in the Miami area. Apparently the grocery chain added check cashing capability after Henry Diaz' murder and used that aspect to perpetrate the fraud.

During the episode it was mentioned that Henry Diaz was the best businessman and most up and up among the family members involved in the grocery chain, while his brothers had some issues in the past.

I know what you mean about the accents. Makes me think of 2 things.

Deadly Women. All shot in Australia, sometimes the actors don't even attempt an American accent or they do a completely horrible one.

Homicide Hunter. I don't know if they changed where they shot it, because this was never an issue in earlier episodes, but they film in Tennessee, while he's in Colorado Springs. All of a sudden the last season or 2, several actors will have Southern accents, which makes no sense unless he handles a lot of cases of people who have relocated to CO from the South.

I am always amused at the fact that they always find such attractive people to portray those in the re-enactments... There's a case profiled on Deadly Women that I am VERY familiar with. The people involved were not super duper attractive, yet their re-enactment counterparts were.

I got a good laugh out of it.

There's an update on the status of Unusual Suspects and it's bad. The show's production company, LMNO Cable Group, is suing Discovery, claiming that it used a monetary crime to steal TLC's The Little Couple. As a result, Discovery has canceled several LMNO-produced shows, including Unusual Suspects.

Same thing with Scorned: Love Kills. Most of the real-life parties are ugly as sin. But they can't film those softcore porn scenes with non-attractive people.

I think one of the episodes where the actors closely resembled their real-life counterparts was the most recent, the murder of Jennifer Ramasam (sp) by her husband Remy. Dateline covered the story and had interviews with the husband and his mistress so I was quite surprised that they found actors similar in appearance.
