Wow, that is a lot! We only get our local channels and the Denver stations(from our satellite). Several years ago, we were able to also get east and west coast channels. I remember our satellite company telling us that there was some law that if you could get local channels, you were not allowed to get anything else on the satellite. I wonder if that has ever changed? I know it was like pulling teeth for us to get the Denver stations. I sure miss getting them all though....

And when you say satellite, are you talking about the small dish ones? We have one of those huge(10 foot) monsters. When it dies(and it acts like it will be anyday soon), I think we are going to switch to one of those little ones....

we have Dish Network. Only problem with receiving network channels from them is that we cant get NBC because in the next county is NBC25 ( you can see their transmitter tower from our backyard ).

As far as getting NBC,CBS, Fox ect...Both Dish and Direct Tv are very picky on who gets what but it all boils down to your home address. I believe Direct TV does the same thing. Kinda weird though as I have neighbors down the street from me who cant get FOX on dish but we can.
Still cant figure that one out.

Couple years ago when I was living in Virginia I had Direct Tv and I was able to get with no problem ABC,CBS, and FOx out of both LA and New York ( I loved LA's Fox morning news show..Good Day LA !! ) thanks to a loophole.

At the time ( it still maybe the case )Direct TV gives the ok on what networks you can get by getting information from Neilsen Media research. Neilsen goes by what "county" you live in. That info works in every state..except Virginia. In Virginia cities are not allowed to be part of a county( a government thing) so therefor you can pick up ABC,FOX,NBC, CBS from NYC or LA , in many cases reguardless how close you are to the tv station. I remember when Direct Tv started airing the local DC channels, we couldnt even get them because our "city" didnt show up on Neilsen's info . The local cable company ( Adelphia ) had a field day on that. However I have been told this loophole has been well..fixed.

I get nothing because I don't live where Dish Network will give us anything. I do get the superstations package though, with WWOR, WSBK, KTLA, etc. I Love the KTLA morning news. Those guys make our news people look like amateurs and our CBS affiliate is supposed to have one of the best news broadcasts in the country.

We have Directv and they were able to persuade our local ABC, CBS, NBC to sign a waiver so we could get the West and East coast feeds. However, our wonderful #$%! local Fox refused to sign the waiver which really sucks as the channel only comes in messy and B&W via our outside anntennae. We have neither UPN or WB in our local area.

Have a nice day
