Default Naomi's hair

I liked Naomi's hair much better in the first two NBC seasons than in the syndication run. That big curly do in syndication just didn't look as attractive to me. Wonder why they changed her hair? I bet the curly do was a wig anyway.

I know I am in the minority on Naomi's hair because there was a discussion about it on IMdB ! Everyone there except me liked her straight hair better!

To me the curly hair softened her facial features. Made her look younger. Also the big curly hair was more country girl ish ! And plus, perms were really in style back than in the 80's!

Dorothy Lyman always wore wigs, even in the NBC years (when they were at least pieces/extensions).

As for the syndicated years, Naomi's hair looked wonderful for the first handful of episodes in season 3, when she wore the wigs with the really big waves in them (this was when she still had some character traits of the NBC Naomi, which, coincidentally, sadly faded away when they put her in the curly/permed wigs). Then when they went to the curly/permed wigs, she never looked nearly as pretty or attractive as she had before. I too always wondered why they settled on such awful wigs (Roselle Friedland, what were you thinking??).

Here are some photos of the syndicated Naomi look I really like. I love these big wavy wigs on her and hate it when the curly permed ones show up...

you're right, the larger curls/waves do look much better than the more tightly would curls of the later seasons. But my favorite is still the straighter hair of the NBC years.

Regarding the NBC years, I prefer her hair a little shorter than the long ponytail, and with a little curl in it, like these:

Yes, I agree with you here too. I also wonder why the producers didn't have Naomi always wear flats when she was around Vint as she was much taller than he was and flat shoes would have helped to minimize that difference.

Maybe they thought it was cute that Vint was shorter and Naomi was taller when she was in heels. Regardless of that though, Naomi's character and personality definitely call for high heels. After all, she loves to sashay around and enjoy her femininity (or "flaunt" it as Mama would say, lol).

Yes! Even when she was pregnant she wore heels!

It looked pretty good when the syndicated years first started (and Naomi was sassy like she was in the NBC years)- but something happened later on with the wigs and also Dorothy Lyman's delivery (she spoke in an exaggerated manner and the accent even sounded different), that weren't as appealing.
