Default Were the sales that bad...

for seasons 1-3 that they decided not to release the remaining 3 seasons?

I know seasons 4-6 aren't as brilliant as 1-3 but they're still pretty darn good.

I have a feeling we'll see a complete series set from Shout! just like we did see with Mister Ed. I don't know how it sold, I just have a feeling we'll see a complete series set soon

2015 would've been the ideal year for a complete series release. It marked the show's 50th anniversary.

I don't think sales were bad at all. I think it's because of the MGM ownership, which has changed hands and companies many times as well as the fact that the current rights holders think it's too valuable to license, yet don't want to do anything with it themselves. So it's stuck in limbo. Shout almost had it back in 2010 and it was going to be a Complete Series but then everything fell through.

^Are you serious about them almost getting the rights? That could've been awesome! Fox owns it, and now that Shout is getting stuff from Fox, Green Acres could be next.

Yes, one of their reps stated this on their old website that had a message board. It was shut down due to way too much spam.

^That's somewhat good news, I guess.

At least it shows that some interest was shown at some point in time. Maybe Shout! will try again soon.

I hope Shout will get this and release a complete series. If not, at least there are plenty of homemade sets on ioffer if I have to go that way to complete it. And yes, I totally remember the Shout message boards. The spam just got way out of control and it was hard to find real posts. I can see why it was shut down.

^I miss the Shout message boards. That's how I got the info on what they were releasing, and why they couldn't release certain shows. "Green Acres" should come out as a complete series set. It really is a good show. I'd buy it.

Wow. Antenna missed out on the ideal marathon -- GA's 50th!

Most of Seasons 4-6 were just as good as anything in the series. To me, the series never got weak with the exception of those pilot episodes at the end of the series, and they don't really count. As for sales, I have no idea, but considering some of the stuff that has been put out in its entirety, I would think Green Acres would do just as well.

^See, that's what is puzzling to me. I agree with you about the sales of seasons 1-3 being just as good (if not better) than some other releases. No one could ever convince me that season sets of "The Nanny" could/would ever sell more than "Green Acres". I love "The Nanny" but I seriously can't imagine the sales being terrific for the series.

I think the series actually got better in seasons 4 through 6 but that's just my opinion. Either way it's been way too long without the release of them. It's like The Muppet Show which is also in perpetual limbo after season 3.

I still am holding out hope for a complete series later this year.
