Wink Anyone know or met anyone on UM

I was wondering if anybody out there actually met anyone that was featured on Unsolved Mysteries? Or if anyone knew any of the victims? Would love to hear your stories!

I copied and payed this from my post in a similar thread from few years ago-

The Tommy Zeiglar case happened in Winter Garden the town I grew up in. Imagine my surprise all those years later to be sitting up late watching Tv after the husband and kids were in bed, and there are people I used to know on UM!

Tommy's wife, Eunice was a 4th grade teacher whose classroom was next door to my 4th grade classroom. She was with our classes a lot for PE. She was a very sweet lady and she married Tommy that year. There was a lot of excitement over her wedding and learning to call her Mrs. Zeiglar when we were used to her being Miss Edwards.

I dated the son of Tommy's lawyer Vernon Davids my senior year in high school. I was surprised to see Vernon on TV that night too!

I've conversed with Martin Yant several times about Circleville. A really nice man who I believe has posted her a few times anonymously.

I've never seen the Craig Walker case discussed on here, probably because it was solved before it was shown. He kidnapped his kids and ran off to Brazil or somewhere. I don't know that I actually met him, but I went to school with him so we knew a LOT of the same people. I googled him awhile back and found out he died a few years ago.

I talked with the man named Elmer "skip" via email. Don't ask how I found his email. He was on one of the segments about Bigfoot in the Northwest. Unsolved mysteries has shown several of these cases but i think his is the most memorable. He was walking through some kind of path and it fell down a hill and started chasing him. He showed me sketches he did and told me he goes back to the area where it happened once a year. This was back in 2008.

I think I've mentioned this a few times on this site. I used to know the guy who portrayed the bank president in the Henderson, NV bank robbery. His name is Chipper Chirimbes and he's actually a fairly well known sports handicapper.

He's still recognizable as the bank president from his bio:
http://www.vegasinsider.com/handicap...chip-chirimbes

Some of those sports handicappers actually bet sports when they arrive in town. That's how I got to know guys like Chipper and Larry Ness, who has also worked in the Jim Feist circle for decades. Then once they see how comparatively simple it is to make money by giving out selections instead of actually making them at the betting counter, you seldom if ever see them in the sportsbooks anymore.

I haven't seen those guys in a long time. Chipper was always friendly and personable when I talked to him. Apparently he developed a bit of an acting bug and tried out for some small parts about 25 years ago, and happened to land that one.

Another guy who was a regular in the Las Vegas sportsbook scene in the same time frame or a bit later has also surfaced elsewhere. I saw Jack Maxwell on Travel Channel with some booze oriented show. He was known as the pretty boy of sports handicappers. But also a good guy, from the few times I spoke to him.

Not sure if this counts as "meeting," since there was no face to face, but I was on Facebook today, looking at a random, non-UM-related thread, and perusing the comments. Anyway, I noticed that one person who commented on it was named "Aideen Murphy." For those who may not remember, Aideen Murphy was a little girl from England who was orphaned during what was known as the "London Blitz" during WWII, but forged a strong friendship with another little girl named Eve Meisel, but they lost contact with each other as they grew up, with Aideen eventually moving to the United States. So anyway, I asked this lady if she was the same Aideen Murphy who went on UM in '93 to try to find Eve Meisel, and she got back to me right away, stating that she was indeed the same Aideen Murphy. Anyway, she's 85 years old now, and she and Eve did eventually reunite sometime around 2000. They still keep up regular contact as of today.

I obviously didn't meet them but Craig Pritchert and Nova Guthrie were spotted in the same hockey arena I was in back in I believe 2001. To think my greatest fear as a child (running into a UM criminal) actually happened and I had no idea.

I dont know if this counts but, when I was in high school, I lived in central NJ. My part time job was at a convenience store run by an Italian family. One of my regular customers on weekends was James Fox, who is interviewed during a segment on the first World Trade Center bombing.

I’ve spoken to a plethora of people involved via FB

Most of all is Windy Korioth. She was briefly featured during the live show on one of the alerts. She was gracious enough to spell out the outcome of her story and it is a tough one. But she is a darling.

Have spoken with Jane Harrison, debbie’s Sister. Again, kind woman. All is well with them.

I exchanged well wishes with Jane boroski awhile ago and she was a ok at time.

I also got a lovely detailed response from Jean schappacher Annette burnsides mother. In summation, she said the fami,y was great and Annette’s kids were doing excellent.

I also reached out to Artie Lee Renfroe the man who’s earring was found in the Morrison pickup. Via his page I found John Colwell the other man involved I. That. Both cool guys, didn’t say much but said thanks for reaching out.
