I don't know IF everyone has seen the Martian yet, but while trapped on Mars character Mark Watney played by Matt Damon is shown watching Happy Days episodes when he had down time. Even a refence when they ask for a photo to show the world he is alive she says

"is he doing The Fonz" as he poses with 2 thumbs up.

The stranded astronaut is so taken by the Fonz, that, when asked by NASA to pose for a photo that will be beamed back to Earth, Watney gives the trademark thumbs-up and “Ayyyy!” salutation — which doesn’t go over too well with the powers that be back home.

Just saw this movie the other night. Loved the Happy Days references!
