Listing Sitcoms ‘Favorite to Least Favorite’ Per Decade… 1970s
This is a thread where I take all the sitcoms from each decade according to Sitcoms Online and place them in order of favorite to least favorite. This includes only shows I’ve seen enough of to be able to judge fairly.
Shows I either haven’t seen or seen enough of that will not be included in my list… Angie / The Bad News Bears / C.P.O. Sharkey / Carter Country / The Courtship of Eddie’s Father / Eight Is Enough / Fish / Hello, Larry / Love, American Style / The Love Boat / Nanny and the Professor / The New Dick Van Dyke Show / Operation Petticoat / Room 222 / The Tony Randall Show My Favorite To Least Favorite #1. Taxi #2. The Odd Couple #3. Happy Days #4. Chico and the Man #5. Rhoda #6. M*A*S*H #7. Three’s Company #8. Soap #9. One Day at a Time #10. The Brady Bunch #11. Welcome Back, Kotter #12. The Mary Tyler Moore Show #13. Mork & Mindy #14. Laverne & Shirley #15. Alice #16. The Bob Newhart Show #17. All in the Family #18. Barney Miller #19. What’s Happening!! #20. Phyllis #21. Maude #22. The Doris Day Show #23. Good Times #24. The Jeffersons #25. Here’s Lucy #26. The Partridge Family #27. Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman #28. The Ropers #29. That’s My Mama #30. WKRP in Cincinnati #31. Sanford and Son I should note this is a favorites list. I don’t think “The Ropers” and “That’s My Mama” are necessarily better than “WKRP in Cincinnati” or “Sanford and Son” it’s just that I don’t care that much about the first two shows whereas I strongly dislike the latter two and feel they need to be the last two on my list. |

Oddly enough, your favorite and least favorite 70's sitcoms are the same as mine except reversed. Sanford & Son is far and away my #1 and Taxi ranks dead last with me.
