Listing Sitcoms ‘Favorite to Least Favorite’ Per Decade… 1950s - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

This is a thread where I take all the sitcoms from each decade according to Sitcoms Online and place them in order of favorite to least favorite. This includes only shows I’ve seen enough of to be able to judge fairly.

Shows I either haven’t seen or seen enough of that will not be included in my list…
The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet / The Ann Sothern Show / Bachelor Father / The Bob Cummings Show / December Bride / The Goldbergs / I Married Joan / It’s a Great Life / Mister Peepers / Our Miss Brooks / Private Secretary / Topper

My Favorite to Least Favorite
#1. The Honeymooners
#2. I Love Lucy
#3. Make Room for Daddy (aka ‘The Danny Thomas Show’)
#4. The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show
#5. The Abbott and Costello Show
#6. The Phil Silvers Show
#7. The Real McCoys
#8. Leave It To Beaver
#9. Father Knows Best
#10. Amos ‘n’ Andy

To me, none of these shows are all that bad. In some of the other decades, I may have a dividing point from ‘least favorite’ to ‘okay, these shows I hate.’ But that’s not necessary for the ‘50s.

Amos 'N Andy would be #1 on my list. To me it's better than all the others combined.

It's a good show and I don't feel it should be banned from television. Luckily, I bought some bootleg DVDs with all the existing episodes. I like it and again, in this decade I like all the shows. So it being last isn't that big of a deal in this case.
