There are three cases I'd like to read about but unsure of the names involved or the segment titles. I'd say all were from the initial NBC run of the series, although I can't be 100 percent certain. I'm really good at remembering UM segments, but these three are stumping me.
1. Literally all I remember is a young guy found shot to death, sitting straight up in his living room armchair. I think it was a question of suicide vs. murder. 2. A case similar to the two Mary's murder, only this time it was two men with similar names and possibly a time span of ten years or more between the killings. I feel like there was a burning car involved, and it was one of those strange, convoluted mysteries that are especially puzzling and creepy. 3. Finally, I tried posting about this a few years ago and no one knew. Since people on here are extremely knowledgeable, I'm sort of doubting myself, but I feel strongly it was an UM segment. All I remember is two people (possibly a mother and daughter) being chased in their car, possibly up into the mountains. I don't believe the people following them were right on their heels, but possibly like an hour behind. I'm fuzzy on this, but I seem to recall the victims stopping at a store or gas station (that could be any number of segments, though, LOL). It's definitely not Swedish Hitchhikers. Thanks in advance for any and all help! |

2. Sounds like Clarence Roberts, though that involved a burning house and not a car. 3. no clue. |

1. It could be Danny Williams? Tommy Burkette I'm not sure. There are multiple suicide segments that have the same type of details so they are easy for me to mix up. I think Danny Williams was found sitting on a sofa chair in his living room and there was blood evidence that suggests he didn't fire the gun.
2. Also sounds like Charles Morgan and Doug Johnston murders. Mistake hit is the dvd title I think. 3. Nothing comes to mind. Need a little more info if you have it. |

Thanks to you both!
Danny Williams is definitely the first one I was trying to recall, although I clearly remember Tommy Burkett and how enraged that segment left me. 2. Mistake Hit was the one! Clarence Thomas is definitely an all time favorite, though. 3. I'm seriously starting to doubt myself on this one. I don't remember anything else about it. I just remember tuning in halfway through the segment, and these people were being chased. I'm not sure if they knew their pursuers. They stopped at a store or for gasoline, and then some time later (maybe an hour or more, I don't think they were in hot pursuit), the bad people stopped at the same place. I feel as though an employee of the store may have been interviewed. I also feel as though they were heading north, into mountainous territory or somewhere remote, but I could be way off on that. Heck, I could be completely off as others have been when searching for segments that didn't exist. But this one stands out in my mind vividly. It was not Swedish Hitchhikers or Philip Frazer. |

In regards to the last case, I guess I'd be curious as to how the perps could follow someone when they're that far behind.
btw, nice job DALLASTEXAN!! You've had some good posts lately and this is one of them. I had initially thought Danny Williams for #1, but Tommy Burkett seemed to be more well-known, so I went with that one. I think there's quite a few cases connected to Charles Morgan, wasn't it said that Danny Casalaro was a possible connected case as well? |

To me, #3 sort of sounds like the Tony DeCompo case. I don't think it's a very well-known segment, and I only heard about it from one of the old Unsolved Mysteries websites. There's a description on the Unsolved Mysteries Wiki.

I think Danny Williams always stuck with me because like Keith warren and a few other segments it looked like the investigation was botched. And mistake hit I've seen too many times. It is separated from the Charles Morgan case and Danny cassalaro case but UM connects them all through don deveroux who is a focal point in the mistake hit segment and said Johnston was killed by mistake in place of him. I think deveroux may have been in the Morgan segment can't recall. The Morgan segment I have not seen in a while and is probably one of the wildest segments you will ever see. |
