Does anyone find it offensive when people use gay to mean stupid? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I don't really. It's the kind of lingo I'm growing up with.

I realize that some people may find it offensive, but I don't but I respect the people that are.

Thoughts?

I find it very offensive, and I'm not even gay.
If you want to call something stupid, you should call it "lame." Calling something stupid "gay" doesn't even make sense.

Yeah I do. I've been called "gay" many times by my "friends". They may have just said that to try and be funny, but who knows?

To me, it just highlights the fact that the person hurling the insult hasn't upped their game since 3rd grade. I'm also not thrilled when the same people use "********" or "******" as an insult.

I've heard it less and less I think it's VERY dumb to use gay as a replacement for dumb...It's like me saying something dumb as using something like (Italian Slur) or (Polish Slur).

I agree.... Stupid misuse of the words!!
