Default Sam's apartment ep.!!!

When Ann was so worried about where Sam was so late at night and Barbara and Mark came over !!! Not only did they know that Sam still kept his old apt. after he and Ann got married, BUT they were in the same house that Julie and Max had a loud, knock down drag out fight in the middle of the night that Max couldn't stand to even stay in the same house with Julie and left!!!

So!!!!!! Mark and Barbara had to have known this, being it was a small house, they had to have heard a fight, and known Max left!!! So, when Ann was so worried why didn't Barbara & Mark tell Ann about Julie & Max's fight, and that Max had left!!!! Sam leaving too would have made sense that he was somehow helping Max out and they were somewhere together! Ann would have worried less, and maybe not been as mad when they told Ann about Sam still having his apartment !!

So, in the light of day, and not having seen it yesterday, maybe Barbara and Mark weren't home during the fight?

If you don't like that, here are 2 monkeys 🐵🐒

NO!!!!!!! Even 3 monkeys won't cut it!!!! They were home!! It was about 2:00 in the morning that Julie and Max were having a very loud fight!! They didn't show the fight but later Max told Sam it was one of the worst, loudest fights ever!!!!

Anyway it starts out the phone is ringing in the Romano apt. Sam comes out of the bedroom obviously being woken up by the phone ringing!! It was the police saying someone had broken into his apt.! Apparently Sam kept his old apt. after marrying Ann and moving in with her! Ann didn't know, and luckily the phone ringing didn't wake Ann up!!!! Sam goes over to the apt.to see what is going on, and there is Max with the cops convincing them he really isn't a burgler!!! ( Yes, Max broke into the apt.) Sam vouches for him and tells the cops he knows Max and everything is OK, except my poor Max upset over the fight with Julie!!!

Meanwhile back at Ann's, Grandma Romano comes banging at the door, and Ann wakes up, at this point it is 3:00 in the morning!!! She has a psychic premonition that something is wrong with Sam!!! Ann realizes indeed Sam is gone and starts to worry!! Grandma had already called Barbara and her and Mark come over and say NOTHING about Sam keeping this old apt. and that is where he might be ,and NOTHING about Max storming out after he and Julie fought! Which to me, if I were Mark or Barbara, right away that would come to my mind that the two incidents might be connected and they might be together!!!!

It wasn't till almost the end of the show that Mark suddenly says "I bet he is just at his old apt,"!! OOOPS !!! Cat out of the bag now!!! Ann goes into "Ann tyrant mode"!!!!

Anyway, my point is Barbara and Mark had to have been home when the fight occurred, unless they are really heavy sleepers they would have heard it!! I'm sure the baby would be crying and everything if it were that bad!!! And after Grandma calling and Mark and Barbara getting dressed Julie would have told them Max is gone too!!!

I don't like the Ann/Sam partnership, so I avoid most episodes from the later part of the series.

I think Sam is OK!!! I can take him or leave him!!! It seemed at that point it was like parallel shows!!! Either it was focused on Ann and Sam at the apt. Or the girls and their husbands at the house(and than Julie left of course)! And I like Ann and Sam's OK, but I didn't really find the eps that centered around them that exciting!! I LOVED the eps that focused on Max, (Julie), Barbara and Mark and of course Little Annie!!!

This particular ep was fun, and it had all the characters in it!! Including Grandma and she was very comical in this ep!!! Only one not in it was Francine, and I totally could do without her. The eps that focus on Ann & Francine are total snooze fests as far as I'm concerned!!! Only exception was when they went to Paris together. That was pretty funny!

It was funny the cops thinking Max was a burgler!! LOL!!!! Him with his perfect hair and Guess jeans, he looked SO FAR from a hoodlum or a drug addict ,someone who would be burglarizing apartments!!!

Max is finally making a good living at the agency and he has to resort to a criminal act to get away from Julie?

Do they not have Holiday Inn's in Indianapolis? Couldn't Katherine have let him sleep on her couch? Why couldn't he have just gone to Ann and Sam's? They would have put him up for the night. Schneider's camper may have bit the dust but he could have called his old frenemy to help him out at his place for the night. They also had a couch in the living room downstairs if he really needed to get away from Julie. So ridiculous a premise.

I liked the episode despite the way it started out. Everyone needs a place to chill and I liked how Ann the Red Menace calmed down on the way there and was understanding with Huckleberry Hound about his secret pad.

I saw the Sam's Apartment episode the previous time around in the previous rotation. It was OK but it's been awhile so honestly I don't recall much about it. Your description of the episode refreshed my mind a little. If I recall, Ann went into jealous mode when finding out Sam still had his old apartment, thinking that he uses it to entertain other women. Is that correct?

I guess I just prefer Ann with David. Too bad David wasn't on the show for that long. Then were the Ginny episodes, she wasn't on the show that long either. I have almost 80 ODAAT episodes saved on my DVR, I missed a few 2nd and 3rd season episodes from this current rotation. The rotation is starting over again soon so I plan to DVR the episodes I missed before.

I don't think Ann thought Sam was being unfaithful when she found out about the secret. Just mad that everybody else knew about it and she didn't.

LOL @ Huckleberry Hound!!!!

Yes, Max really could have gone to a hotel!!!! Or even spent the night in his car!!! Cry me a river, "I would of had to sleep in the park"!!!! Would that be the same park you stole your best friend's girl from at their wedding in the park!!!!!

But I think the time of night !! Like after 2:00 in the morning ,he didn't want to disturb and upset Ann, Sam or Grandma!!! He didn't bank on a neighbor at Sam's old place with insomnia or whatever catching him breaking in!!!

And Schneider's camper couldn't be an option, remember it burned up!!!!

Yes, that is why I said the camper "bit the dust" LOL.

I am confused about the break in stuff though.

Did he have Sam's key? Or did he use a knife? I must have missed something at the beginning.

Funny stuff about the park, Bonnie. Speaking of parks, why couldn't he have parked himself in his own bed and have Julie go over to her mother's for the night if she was so upset?

Nah!!! I don't think he had a key, cause the neighbor who caught him probably wouldn't think that was too suspicious , somebody just letting themselves in to an apartment!!! The neighbor would think Sam was lending the apartment out to a friend or even thought Sam gave the apt. up completely ,and this was a new tenant!!!!

I was thinking he actually climbed in the window ? That is the first thing that came to me, either Sam was on the first or second floor, or Max climbed up the fire escape? But I had in my mind he broke in by coming in the window? But yeah ,he could have messed with the lock and broken in , but would Max really know how to do something like that, and /or been that desperate? It was already after 2:00 in the morning ,for crying out loud, he could have just drove around, or went to an all night diner/coffee shop whatever!!! Or if he really needed to get to sleep, if it was a work day the next day like I said, just sleep in his car! Not comfortable, but you gotta do what you gotta do! Or the more logical , like we both said, get a motel room!!!!!

I'm thinking Julie was in such a manic state , screaming and throwing a fit, that sleeping on the couch wouldn't be an option , he wouldn't get any sleep there anyway or if he had stayed in the bed, and suggested SHE leave and go to her Mom's ,damn who knows, the fight might have escalated and really gotten violent !!!!!!!!!!!!

There's something wrong with the episode when the fictional back story of the fight is more interesting than the actual episode.
