Default Boomerang Channel / Classic cartoons ?

I used to have Boomerang about 8 years ago and downgraded cable service.I had not watched this channel again until recently when I upgraded and wow.It seems like most of the cartoons from the 70's and before are gone.Tom and Jerry,Looney Tunes,Scooby Doo and Flintstones (late at night when nobody is awake) seem to be the only survivors on this channel. This is too bad.Again it seems the over 45 age group is neglected. It would be nice if one of the numerous classic channels like METV or Antenna TV would start airing the old cartoons for us to see again.Sorry just a little rant.

Oh No

Sorry?

Nothing to be sorry about!

I feel that way with Boomerang just plays the cash-cow shows...which is Scooby-Doo. Once they ditched most of the H-B shows when I ditched cable...I don't think I want this station again!

I wish there's a substation soon with the classic cartoons. Not just H-B Shows, but Filmation Shows, Jay Ward Shows, and DIC Shows to name a few.

I used to watch "The Smurfs". I'm not sure if they still show it or not.

Have you ever noticed what seems to be a trend? Before cutting the cord in 2007 I noticed whenever a new channel made it's debut they actually showed a lot of shows that we hadn't seen in ages. It was almost like seeing some old friends we hadn't seen in ages. Then, just as we are are enjoying these old classics, the rug is pulled out from under our feet as they take these shows out and replace them with "Cash Cow" shows. I have to wonder if the first shows are actually MORE popular than these so-called "Cash Cow" shows, but "rights issues" and/or some other b llsht makes airing these shows more expensive to show than the 'cows, so they get yanked.

Right now I am getting a free preview of Boomerang for Memorial Day and I think it's an amazing channel and how Boomerang could be improved to make it more wonderful is that they should add more of the classic cartoons like Top Cat Wally Gator The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop Wacky Races and The Huckleberry Hound Show or even show Quick Draw McGraw because those shows are really the coolest classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons made and Boomerang should try to bring them back. I've also noticed that Boomerang shows a lot of Looney Tunes cartoons and Pokemon cartoons and that alone makes Boomerang a great channel for me to see. But I think in the future Cartoon Network will add a spin-off channel to Boomerang that will show 80's cartoons and add 90's cartoons to the lineup as well and it would be a good success for Cartoon Network indeed

I think a Cartoon Cartoons Network would be good. If I ran CN, I would have four stations...

Cartoon Network-This station will show first-run cartoons.
Cartoon Cartoons Network-This station will show Cartoon Network Shows since 1992.
Boomerang-This station would return to classic cartoons prior to 1996.
Adult Swim-This station would play more grown-up cartoons and live shows.

That channel used to show action cartoons from the 60s to the 80s in a section they called Boomeraction in the early 00s

Luckily, most of the classic 70s HB cartoons are being released to dvd through warner archive! Boomerang is pretty much worthless nowadays.
