Default We're finally going to pull the plug

Last week we only watched 2 shows that were actually on TV. It's not worth the 108.00 per month we pay. I will admit it would be easier if we could get local channels or if we could get unlimited internet so we could watch TV online.

My husband's Dr. said he's now cancer free so we just need to pay off all the medical bills from 4 hospital stays and his being out of work for so long.
Hopefully in the next year or two we can sell our home and move, we'll even be able to get Me-TV in the town we plan to relocate to.

We've given it a lot of thought and struggled with pulling the plug for quite a while but the fact is it's not getting any better. I think TV continues to decline. We are far from couch potatoes but we both enjoy sitting in front of the TV and watching TV in the evening for a bit before going to bed. I guess we'll just keep watching the shows we have on DVD over and over. LOL

Very happy to hear your husband is cancer free!

Hoping also you find a nice new home, and maybe purchase a few more DVD's you don't have yet and some movies!

I've never talked to you before, but am posting to say that I am glad your husband is cancer free.

However, I do disagree with everyone who says there is nothing to watch on cable.
On CNN, you have the Donald Trump show.
On TLC, the Duggars are coming back.
On E is it, there are the Kardashians. etc.

(Of course, I am being sarcastic).

Thank you all! It was a rough year and I was so afraid of losing him. He ended up in kidney failure from the cancer treatments but the Dr's got the kidneys functioning again. He still has a cath and has had it for a year but hopefully it comes out of his abdomen next month.

We will start adding to our DVD collection. I hear TV and movies will just continue to decline so we'll certainly be grateful for any of the old shows and movies we can find.

Big hugs to all of you.

LoL!! This made me laugh! So true!

I'd pull the plug too but my dad likes to watch WGN, TV Land (for Bonanza, Gunsmoke, & Andy Griffith), and several of the sports channels.

I mostly watch my DVD collection. "Days of our Lives" & "Wheel of Fortune" are the only new shows I watch.

Just a quick correction. On every network you have the Donald Trump show. Heck, Johnny Carson even talks about him on AntennaTv.

When you say your Dad does too, does your family live with you? Or do you live alone? I'm only 16 so I still live with my parents and we don't have cable. We have a converter box and an antenna and I mainly just watch Antenna TV, Me TV, and Laff and my DVD collection

^I still live at home. We're in a very rural area---I've tried to hook up a TV Antenna and we can't pick up any channels.

Same here! We can't get anything. I wish we could get Me-TV but I'd even be happy with Antenna TV.
I am jealous of people that can watch TV online.

What kind of internet do you have? I live out in the sticks and I have Exede. It's satellite internet. It's a little pricey, but I am able to watch TV shows online. I think Exede is available to anyone no matter where they live.
