I recently bought off of Ebay the TV Guide from March 19-25, 1977. In its preview of the last episode, it comes right out and mentions the main plot point: Everyone except Ted getting fired. It seems somewhat strange that the people from the show would allow such a main detail about the finale to come out before the show aired.

Yeah that does seem strange to me! I think part of what makes that episode so powerful is the shock of finding that Ted isn't going to be fired, since that would be the most logical thing! LOL I wonder why they did that.
