What do you all think was the "unusual operation" they were prepping for when Lucy was disguised as a nurse? If it were a sitcom on now, I would guess a sex change – LOL – but I don't think they did them in this country in the 50s.

Back in the 1950's it could have been anything we think as common today. Who knows, maybe a surgery to help polio victims.

On a side note, I love the scene when the doctor pulled back the covers, saw a teddy bear and fainted. I was in stitches when I saw that even though I obviously knew it was a teddy bear underneath the covers. The camera showing the teddy bear being revealed was great.
