Default Caught a blooper in the episode tonight....."Stanley's Hotline"

Mrs Roper was laughing and calling Linda and Jack to come out of the kitchen but instead of Jack she yells........."HEY JOHN., LINDA!!"

Not sure why I didn't catch it before

Ooo, I'll have to watch that! I never caught that mistake, either.

Last night I watched "Helen's Rendezvous" and I noticed a major blooper in the Regal Beagle scenes....at first, when Mrs. Roper is on the phone in the Beagle, we see through the window behind the bar the store across the street is "Bicycle Wheels." A few seconds later, when Mrs. Roper sees the kids and goes to speak to them, the store out the window is "Bakery." Then in the next Regal Beagle scene (when Stanley enters looking for Helen) the backdrop outside the window is "Bicycle Wheels." Three different backgrounds, plain as day. Someone was really sleeping on the job.

It was on again this afternoon, and I heard "Jack". I even rewound the DVR a few times. While we wait for more opinions, what was more interesting is why was Linda shoved in this episode instead of Janet?

Opus.....yes, I agree with you, I heard "Jack," too, although the way she says it I almost didn't hear the "ck" on the end, so I can see how it would sound like John. It almost sounds like "Jan"

The reason Joyce DeWitt wasn't there was that she was having a contract dispute. Much like Suzanne Somers did a couple years later, Joyce said she was "sick" that week because she was so outraged by getting screwed in salary negotiations. She wanted a raise and was getting the runaround. She eventually compromised and (obviously) came back to the show, but for this episode she was missing. It's the only episode she missed during the entire run of the show.

I have that book in my collection. But I bought it when it first came out, so looking at the 1998 copyright, it's been about 17-18 years since I read the thing.

Nowadays you never would see that on high profile shows where another actor steps in to replace another actor even for a one-off episode.

Remember when the cast of Friends all held out for contract renegotiations? It would have been silly seeing the followings weeks episode of Friends with six brand new actor in their place.
