My father was on TV (WPIX) help? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

My father was a guest on the show "Best Talk in Town" on WPIX, which was hosted by Noela Roeper. The subject matter was divorce & children of divorce I believe. We have a VHS of it that a relative taped, but they did a poor job and the tracking issues make it almost unwatchable. It was filmed in sometime I would say between Fall 1986 and January 1987. Some questions:

1) Is there any way I could find out exactly what date it was?
2) Is there any way I could perhaps get a master/negative of the show and have a new copy made, rather than the poor TV/VHS tape rip?

I bet the station wiped the master tape.
