Default Florida had low self esteem and used "dishonesty" as a reason not to do the

commercial.

What difference did it make whether she never used vita brite? Just do the commercial and take the damm money. But deep down she knew she was not attractive and didn;t want to be on TV anyway and the dishonesty of the script as a easy way out of not doing the commercial.

Worst mother in sitcom history. You live in the projects and you going to let a lie stop you from making $5000 in 1974 which would be like $24,000 in 2016??????????

Agreed. She acted like she had too much pride sometimes, yet she never wanted to do anything that would get her family out of the ghetto. She's lucky James (and later, Carl) put up with her.

It's called integrity. Claiming you use something when you don't is a bold faced lie and Florida didn't want to lie on national TV.

Does Florida really believe that all commercials are honest? I don't believe Jennifer Aniston uses Aveeno products.

She didn't want to go on TV because she knew she was not attractive and used the script as a reason not to do it

Worst mother in sitcom history? No. Lenella Gordon who abused her child and Mo's birth mother in Smart Guy who wanted nothing to do with him when he found her 17 years later after she gave him up at birth to go live a childfree life were worse mothers.

Florida was not stupid. She didn't want to lie on national TV. Her morals and integrity were high.

And the show talked bad about successful blacks and whites which is why I don't care for it anymore

Like the man who didn't want his daughter dating JJ, why the hell would he want his daughter in the project environment if he fought hard for her to be in a different environment
