Default Is this a new trend in animated cartoons today?

I have been noticing in animated cartoons today that a lot of cartoons are being based on animated movies and I would like to know if this is a beginning of a trend in the animated cartoon world on TV? Take for example Nickelodeon had wonderful success with the cartoon The Penguins Of Madagascar which was based on the movie Madagascar and then they had Back At The Barnyard based on the movie Barnyard and then Nickelodeon debuted a cartoon based on the movie Monsters Vs Aliens which proved that Nickelodeon had a awesome success with cartoons based on movies. Shortly after Nickelodeon did this Cartoon Network started having cartoons based on movies too with the cartoon Dragons which was based on the movie How To Train Your Dragon and even Disney started making cartoons based on movies such as the Mater's Tall Tales cartoon that's based on Disney's Cars and also Toy Story Toons which is a cartoon that came from Toy Story. And by seeing this new trend makes me think that there will new cartoons in the future based on animated movies when new animated movies are released soon,
Have you noticed this about today's cartoons?,
Bestie

It's not a new trend.
