Oh No I feel uncomfortable at my library.

Someone at the library that I go to had an argument with a security guard at the library. He's gone, but this seems to happen every month...

So how good are those tablet computers? My dad is going to buy me one real soon and then I won't have to deal with these bums who like to argue.

There not bad. You have to get used to a smaller screen and the touch screen is sometimes a pain because you always touch the wrong site by accident.

We have a problem with the homeless people hanging out at our library. Some of them don't bother you but others do. The last time I went I had a homeless man follow me around and get much too close to me. I left without checking out any books and I also told the librarian. There's not much they can do about it unless they actually attack you. I no longer go there to browse for books.

This is all just a symptom of thirty years of Reaganomics, where profit has been diverted to the Cayman Islands whilst public services have deteriorated and the demand for them increased. Add guns and mental health issues into the mix and you end with a society where nobody feels at ease.

I can't speak about your library, but for basic internetting, tablets are fine and convenient.

That's the problem at the library I'm at. Too many people hang around from off the streets disrupting things. No real business there except to loiiter.

One guy last week just reeked of cannabis.

And I also notice a lot of brats at the computer stations like the ones I now twirling on the chairs who are not even using the computers but are playing on their smell phones. A lot of them do this for hours. As if anyone who might need to use a station is stuff out of luck.

It's sad to be homeless and I hate to see people down and out! But it is just getting out of hand nowadays! Seems the homeless are everywhere now!! Not just in bad neighborhoods! And some of them are scary!

I am in the process of getting a library card to check out movies!! I did notice homeless hanging around out front , so I'm just gonna hurry in, get my selection and go as quick as I can!!!

Default Here's another reason to feel uncomfortable...

I read an article once that listed the top spots to pick up bed bugs and the library was listed. Others were movie theaters, hotels, public transit, anywhere the public congregates. The bugs just hitch a ride.

OMG!!! I didn't think about libraries ,but I thought about that last time I was in the movies and was resting my head on the back of the chair!!! Bedbugs OR head lice!! YUCK!!!! And I was on an LA Metro bus /public city bus and it wasn't very crowded this time, seats available and a man was standing up near me, and I heard him say to another person the very same thing, that he didn't want to sit down because you never know ,there could be bedbugs!!!

I also didn't think about libraries having bed bugs. *shudders* Head lice are awful. I hope I never come across bed bugs.

The public libraries here in Manhattan NYC are kind of skeevy. LOTS of homeless folks and many have BO. I seldom go to the library, but when I do, it's rarely for more than 10 minutes.

I think the last time I was in a library was when I was in college. There was one on campus.

Oh No

I'm at another branch today...the Cleveland Libraries are okay, but it may take me awhile to return to the Carnegie West Branch. The South Branch is okay...that's where I'm at now.

I wish I could help-out the homeless, but I even got stopped by a couple of times with bums that have good shoes saying "Can you give me some money so I can eat"?

I'm sooooo tempted to say "Get A Job"!

I wouldn't mind giving them a voucher they could exchange for food, but I'm afraid if I give them money they'll just buy alcohol, so I don't. I do feel mean though.
