5th Season felt like a spin-off - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I watched the 5th Season in it's entirety finally. I was too mad back in 2005 when the changes were made. Watching it objectively, the show moved too far away from the original premise. While Flex made a few guest appearances and the last time we saw him, we was planning to get married (Missing the Daddy Express Episode).

Many of these new characters felt like Cuts characters rather than One on One characters. It was good to give their relationship a true test but Breanna and Arnez were simply not compatible. Great high school couple but terrible high school couple. She always was used to Arnez living in her shadow and when he started coming into his own, she had problems with that. Arnez needed an artsy woman like Michelle who he ended up pursuing at the end. Breanna dated Calvin but she was too all over the place for him. D-Mack was a good choice for her.

I think if they would have kept her in the DMV area instead of going to LA and then having Spirit making guest spots as going to a fashion college in another area or showing her adventures. Duane should have moved to Cuts (similar to what Andell did on Moesha.
