Default Archie was so mean to Lionel in the episode....."Lionel moves in"

Before this episode Archie was always nice when talking to Lionel or speaking about Lionel but in this episode he was just wrong

When Lionel asked Archie can he call him "Uncle Archie" Archie said...."i think it's against the law"

Then when Lionel was upstairs Archie told Edith Lionel has to leave because he has some friends coming over and if they see Lionel they "will think the Bunker home is the Old Kentucky Home" And that the only spades his friends want to see is in the deck

Lol lol

Archie was out of order

He even tells George to help him get a cot out of the attic for Lionel to sleep on. Archie proceeds to tell George how his cousin Oscar died on that cot. A real nice thing to say. The point is Archie likes Lionel but does not want him living with him. Lionel really had Archie made as well. In season 4 games Bunkers play Mike reminds Lionel that Archie is the bigot in the family Lionel then states yeah but he does not know any better. Lionel was my favorite character on the show.

Yes, Archie was mean to Lionel but not as "The Jeffersons " would wind up being to him!

He could have still appeared on both shows since they were in NYC. Appear on AITF as a occasional visitor who was going to college in the area while still appearing on the Jeffersons

He said that to piss George off to tell Lionel to go home. Notice Louise's smile when Archie says that.
Archie said those things because he knew they would reconcile and leave his house faster.

Archie was out of order most of the time. I never found his bigoted remarks funny. He was also a lousy husband IMO. He never really appreciated Edith and Edith was too much of a dingbat to realize that.

Archie is just lucky that he had Lionel for a neighbor because Lionel had a lot of class and let Archie get away with a lot.
