Why are TV scenes with the original music shown in local syndication but not cable or - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

DVD?

Maybe a silly question but I never knew the answer. I remember seeing all the original scenes with music from certain tv artists but when it's on cable oe DVD the song is replaced.

WHY?

Maybe it's because of music rights.

George Lopez shown on syndication uses War - Low Rider theme, but for the DVD, the same music is removed and replaced with some diff music.

Hangin with Mr. Cooper when first time showing on Nick at Nite in 2014, opening theme for first season never used En Vogue, it got replaced with Give It Up by some other singers (from later seasons).

All That which first ran in 1995-2005 originally used music guests to perform, but when it was brought back in 2012 for Nick at Nite in short amount of time, music guests performance were edited out.

I guess that is the one plus of watching a sitcom in local syndication, you hear Original music in the credits and during the show

Thats why your better off watching or taping episodes from tv shows from youtube or wish they are on in syndication because a) the music rights are a pain in the ass and b) it seems like, or at least it used to be, that the syndication episodes were uncut w/o many commericals.

Music is cut out of youtube versions too

how do you tape episodes off of You Tube? Is that one of those computer things that's so complicated you need a degree in computer science to do it?

What I meant to say was tape them off TV. or rip them off of youtube.
