Okay, to round out your ten...

Here are a couple that are classic:

"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by The Beatles
Can you name all those people?

"Playing Possum" by Carly Simon
The guys drooled; the gals envied.

My favorite Album cover is
Sport by Heuy Lewis and the News you know if you look at the front side and look at the back side the sports bar looks different.
I also like Sugar Ray's 14:59 one, Garth Brooks Fresh Horses, Dimond Rio Unbelievable, Bruce Springsteen Born in the USA & Creed Higher.

Thumbs up

It's taken me a while to think about this (hence the reason why I'm only posting now - I had to go back 3 pages to find this topic again!) but I've decided to name 'Powerslave' by Iron Maiden as my favourite album cover of all time.
All of Maidens albums have awesome covers but 'Powerslave' is something special. You can't see very well from this picture but the cover art is exceptionally detailed. There are tonnes of tiny little drawings and symbols all over the temple. There are some funny wee jokes hidden in amongst them too but you really have to look for them. I also love the way the artist (shame on me but I've forgotton the guys name right now!) has managed to incorporate Maidens mascot, Eddie the 'ead, into the pyramid by making him into some sort of Pharoa-like figure.
Simply awesome!

I liked Supertramp's, Breakfast in America. I also like the Rolling Stone's, Sticky Fingers, (the one with the real zipper on the cover), pretty sure it was Sticky Fingers. It was eons ago.

I know that when I reply to music posts, I typically mention Garbage......and this time is no different. The "beautifulgarbage" c.d. has an awesum cover with that nifty metal-like red rose on it. It's perdy!

GARBAGE!

Angry re: album covers

The one problem with CD's is that you can't get the same effect with album covers as you could with vinyl. It was supposed to be ART. Now it's just a postcard. So here are some album coversI think are cool.

The uncensored version of "Country Life" by Roxy Music--and the music is very good, too.

"Technical Ecstacy" by Black Sabbath--even though this probably wasn't one of their best albums.

Speaking of which, "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" by Black Sabbath is
CREEPY!!!! Great artwork for a very good album.

Any Yes album with Roger Dean artwork: "Fragile", "Yessongs" etc.

Woohoo! Go Beatles fans. Anyway... the Beatles had several classic album covers, and along with Sgt. Pepper's, the white album, and Abbey Road, I have to add Revolver. The white album's probably my favorite out of the Beatles' album covers, though.
