Like all 3 but I've always loved "ITHOTN". Great show with great stories and actors.

I think he does a great job whatever character he portrays. But I enjoy All in the Family a lot; the writing is wonderful as are all the characterizations. He's a great actor; he improves anything he's in.

My grandmother watched a lot of In the Heat of the Night, and it's a habit that stuck with me (same goes for Matlock). The reruns aired quite a bit in college, and I was actually a bit surprised that some of my friends loved it so much.

All in the Family was great because it was groundbreaking for a sitcom to cover such territory. However, towards the end, as it became Archie Bunker's Place, Archie mellowed out, and ABP seemed more like a generic early-80s sitcom. It wasn't that just one though; it seems that a few Norman Lear sitcoms lost their edge by 1980, and became more conventional sitcoms.

well, since I've never seen IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT, haven't seen ARCHIE BUNKERS PLACE in YEARS and I watch ALL IN THE FAMILY almost every night, I'll say that.

I watch AITF now and I'm a fan because Archie reminds me so much of my own Grandpa. He didn't like my dad at first but I guess they really did later. I seen only a handful of episodes of Heat of the Night so I really can't say much about that. Archie Bunker's place was ok but it would probably be better if Edith "died"

I did not like AITF or ABP but I love ITHOFT. My grandparents and I watched it together during it's original run and I occasionally tune into the reruns on WGN. I liked the "Southern gothic" aspect of and it also did a good job dealing with racial tension, albeit sanitized for 90's TV. O'Connor was perfect on there.
