Default Did Archie and Edith ever visit?

After the show spun off from All in the Family, did Archie and Edith ever visit the Jeffersons at their new apartment? I don't recall that they did but I wonder why they didn't? I could at least see Louise inviting Edith over.

That's one thing about these spinoffs, as we are discussing on the Good Times forum, once the character spins off, they are mostly in a different reality from the original series.

It was no need for the Bunkers to appear on the Jeffersons because George and Archie were not friends. Louise and Edith was just neighbors not nice to each other because they lived right next to each other. Maybe Mike Stivic would have made sense in season 1 because he was friends with Lionel

It was no need for the Bunkers to appear on Maude because Maude and Archie didn't like each other. And how else would edith have gotten to Surburban without Archie? So that's why they never appeared on that show

Wasn't that really an All in the Family episode?

Yes it was. It was at the very beginning of the episode in the Jeffersons old home just before they moved.

I would have loved Archie and Edith meet the Jeffersons' neighbors. Especially bentley in which Archie would have a field day.

The only Jefferson episode she appeared in was George and Louise in a Bind from season 5

Archie would have had no interest in traveling to Manhattan to see the Jeffersons Apt. That;s why it never happened

Storyline purposes, yes it wouldn't have made sense, but for crossover purposes, we all would have love to have seen it!

The Bunkers visited Maude and Archie had no interest in going there, even though that was an All in the Family episode that helped started Maude, and I know, Maude was a cousin of Edith's

Archie would not have been eager to see the Jeffersons new fancy apt. And since Edith was too simple minded to go alone so that's why the crossover never happened lol

I always thought it was odd that at least Edith didn't come visit Louise. They were so close and it would've been nice to see them together again. It would've also been nice to see Edith's face when she saw the apartment. I can only imagine the possibilities this would've opened for both shows if only the writers would've 'went there'.

Yeah they saw each other again when Louise came back to visit Edith in 1979 instead of vice versa
