Post FOX Family Channel or ABC Family Channel

When exactly did ABC take over the FOX Family Channel? That network has gone through some changes.

First:CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network)
Second: The Family Channel
Third: FOX Family Channel
Fourth: ABC Family Channel

Did something happen that I don't know about?

I think it officially changed on November 10, 2001. But I like ABC Family Better, I Like the Name. And They Air "Step by Step" two times, but I think they should air some more "Growing Pains", But I think ABC Will Be Better then Fox! But That Chanele Has Problems! The Ownsership Keeps Changing!

ABC assumed control last Saturday, but the major schedule changes won't happen until after the first of the year. They're planning to rerun a lot of current ABC shows, like "Nightline" and "My Wife and Kids".

Well you know if ABC has taken over then you might as well call it another Disney Channel because Disney owns ABC which makes since as to why Growing Pains could be aired on ABC Family. B4 that, it was on The Disney Channel.

Cool

Do they still air reruns of Early Edition? I used to love watching that show, but I haven't seen it in a while.

First:CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network)
Second: The Family Channel
Third: FOX Family Channel
Fourth: ABC Family Channel

From what I can remember living in Virginia Beach ( where CBN was based out of ) back in the late 80s, the only reason CBN became The Family Channel had a lot to do with all the negative stuff happening at that time with a lot of the religious shows on tv( Jim Bakker & Jessica Haun, Jimmy Swaggart and the hooker
and Oral Roberts saying that God will call him home if he didnt get a million( s ) from his viewers).

Pat Robertson ( the man from the 700 Club ) who owned CBN was concerned that all this
neagative PR would hurt CBN as CBN stood for Christian Broadcasting Network ( though they aired a lot of reruns and other non-religious shows at that time) so he changed the name to The Family Channel, or in the early days The CBN Family Channel.

It was Pat Robertson who sold The Family Channel to Fox (which in turned became Fox Family) for millions. Same time he sold Norfolk's channel 27 WYAH to Paramount. He made millions off that too.

Pat Robertson is one very weathly man !!
