Does anyone remember if the color (seasons 3-7, 1965-70) episodes of PJ were ever shown in syndication from 1976-86 (before TV Land revived the series)? That is the clue to determine if the Viacom "V of Doom" logo had ever shown up or not.
It would seem there were problems getting the series re-syndicated after Viacom first did so in 1971. This was certainly true for the B&W episodes (seasons 1-2, 1963-65) since certain rights issues held them up from being syndicated until being shown on Me-TV in 2011. But why did the color episodes get withdrawn from syndication for a time? ~Ben |

I remember back in the late '70's a very weak very bad looking far off local UHF channel in Maryland that showed Petticoat Junction (the color years) BUT it was very very bad looking. And I don't mean just the reception, the quality of the film was really bad, faded, green and purple and blurry with muffled sound. Definitely an example of the way a show looked PRE-restored.
But I also remember being delighted at that time to finally see Petticoat Junction again since not having seen it since it was first on the air. Weak UHF station, poor film quality or not, it was Petticoat Junction back on the air. Of course, when TV Land put it back on the quality of the picture was like day and night. I couldn't believe how good and clear and bright the color was compared to the faded green looking version I had seen several years earlier.
