Why was Tony Dow's hair half blond and half brown in the first season? I really liked it this way, and I wanna know why it was. Did he have highlights?

I see alot of kids who have their hair half bleached kind of like Wally's, I agree it looked good on him that way too. I guess he just like it that way...

He swam alot when he was a boy. Maybe the sun or the chlorine in the water bleached it.
