...appearances by Alex Trebek in other shows?
Has anyone seen the Golden Girls episode "Questions and Answers"? Dorothy really wants her shot on Jeopardy, Blanche, true to character, just wants...a shot at Alex. Sadly, Dorothy only gets on Jeopardy in a dream, where Trebek, Gilbert, and Merv Griffin all appear. (This was made in 1992.) It is eerily timely to watch now, because Dorothy says that Merv Griffin is so beloved he is "the anti-Trump"! But the Jeopardy in Dorothy's dream is very much a parody, and Alex seems like he's parodying himself, too. He doesn't seem as attractive as Blanche seems to think...I think she would like the Alex of today even better. He's very suave, which would appeal to her too. He bows down to Merv Griffin in that episode...I know Griffin created Jeopardy but something makes me think Alex wouldn't bow down to anyone. And Alex narrates the "Hot in Cleveland" episode "Stayin' Alive," except that he keeps breaking the fourth wall and reminding us it IS only a show. But he rescues the ladies. It seems like when he's not playing himself he likes to do "secret agent" or "deeds of derring-do"-roles. He was a Man in Black on the X-files, and he played a Bond parody in old Jeopardy commercials. |

I'm a Jeopardy regular. Here are some other Alex sightings-
Cameo appearances •Mama's Family (1987) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! •Cheers (1990) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! •Predator 2 (1990) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! (Voice) •The Golden Girls (1992) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! •White Men Can't Jump (1992) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! •Short Cuts (1993) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! •Rugrats (1993) - as Alan Quebec, the host of Super Stumpers, on which Didi Pickles is a contestant •The Nanny (1995) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! •Beverly Hills, 90210 (1995) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! •The Simpsons (1997) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! in Miracle on Evergreen Terrace (Voice) •Finding Forrester (2000) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! •Arthur (2000) - as Alex Lebek, the host of Riddle Quest, on which Arthur is a contestant •Pepper Ann (1997) - As himself in the 2001 finale. His character was to have married the title character's mother Lydia Pearson sometime during the fifteen year span between the events of the series and the futuristic final episode. •Family Guy (2006) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! (Voice) •The Bucket List (2008) - himself as the host of Jeopardy! (Voice) |

The truth is, on the whole, he was definitely game for this role...

Are you refer to the X-files Man in Black or the Hot in Cleveland park ranger? I read somewhere that while travelling in Spain he got interested in bull-fighting...I think he must like the idea of playing a "secret agent" or "adventuring"-type character. |

I've only ever seen the episodes of Cheers and The Golden Girls that Alex did. While I like both of them I like the Cheers episode a little more. But I think that's probably because Cliff is really such a buffoon LOL.
