Showtime Confirms "Billions'" 7th Season is its Last
"Billions" Renewed for Season 2
by Michael Slezak January 26, 2016 Showtime is bullish about "Billions". The network announced Tuesday that the Damian Lewis-Paul Giamatti drama about the showdown between a hedge-fund king and an ambitious U.S. attorney has been renewed for Season 2. "Billions" premiered earlier this month to just under a million viewers and a 0.2 demo rating. In its second outing, it ticked up to a 0.3 rating. The pilot episode, which was available on demand and online starting Jan. 1, had the best-ever debut ratings for a Showtime series, according to the network, with its pilot being viewed by 6.5 million viewers across all platforms. Other cast members include Malin Åkerman, Maggie Siff and David Costabile. http://tvline.com/2016/01/26/billion...on-2-showtime/ |

"Billions" Renewed for Fourth Season at Showtime
by Denise Petski April 26, 2018 Showtime has ordered a fourth season of its hit drama series "Billions", starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis. In addition, the series, which currently airs Sundays at 10 PM, will move to 9 PM ET/PT starting next Sunday, May 6 to anchor the night and serve as the lead-in for the season two premiere of "I’m Dying Up Here". "Billions" continues to be a strong ratings performer for Showtime. The season three premiere on March 25 was its highest-rated ever, up 23 percent from last year. "Billions" ranks as the network’s No. 2 drama series behind "Homeland". “Billions continues to build its audience as it explores the heights of power and wealth even as it plumbs the depths of the human psyche,” said Gary Levine, President of Programming, Showtime Networks. “Brian and David are gifted, propulsive storytellers and we can’t wait to see where they and their extraordinary cast will take us in season four.” http://deadline.com/2018/04/billions...is-1202377356/ |

"Billions" Renewed at Showtime for Season 6, Corey Stoll Upped to Series Regular
by Peter White October 1, 2020 Bobby Axelrod and Chuck Rhoades will be going at it again for another year after Showtime renewed "Billions" for a sixth season. Corey Stoll, who guest starred as Mike Prince, a social impact pioneer who poses a threat to Damian Lewis’ Axe’s dominance, has been promoted to series regular for season six. The renewal comes as the financial thriller has not yet returned to production for its final five episodes of season five, which were interrupted by the COVID-19 production shutdown. Season five launched on Showtime at the start of May with a seven-episode run through to June. The network hopes that the remaining five episodes will air in 2021 with season six to follow. https://deadline.com/2020/10/billion...ar-1234589401/ |
