Default Do All the Episodes Still Exist?

I've been watching bits and pieces of this show on my break at work thanks to Antenna TV and I like it. So now I'm wondering if anyone knows if all eight seasons worth of episodes still exist or if any (probably from the early years) have been lost or destroyed? I'd love for some company to release this show in season sets.

I think they must. I agree. I would love a complete series set from Shout!

I went looking thru my copy of Say Goodnight Gracie: The Story of George Burns & Gracie Allen, and without rereading fully, this is what I noticed. For the first two seasons it says "These are all live shows, preserved as kinescopes, and are not in syndication". From season 3 on, " All remaining shows are on film ". It was published in 1989, so I don't know if there's more current info.

The book is 14 cents and $3.99 shipping at Amazon. I recommend it. (price on 1/26/16, if someone is bumping this up in the year 2025. And if you are in the year 2025, does Amazon still exist?).

I have that book got it cheap too on amazon, it is a good look into the show and has all the episodes in it.

I sure would buy the series if it came out. There is someone on ebay that sells what they have recorded from antenna , I have thought to buy it but don't know the quality.

Opus, if you're reading this in 2025, don't forget to take your flying car in for servicing.

>>Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Despite its title, this book is not a biography of either Gracie Allen or her husband and partner, George Burns, but rather a detailed history of the Burns & Allen TV show. As such, the writers have successfully re-created the 1950-58 program and at the same time revealed the warm relationship that existed between the dryly witty Burns and the zany on-stage character of the late Gracie Allen. In this era of expose biographies it is refreshing to read about two entertainers who were innately decent individuals and who were very much in love with each other. The book devotes a great deal of space to how a TV program is put together, and there is an appendix with synopses of all the shows.<<

The episodes produced between 1950-52 are on kinescopes and I do not believe are typically included with the syndication package. They are not great quality, but are available on public domain DVD releases. I've seen a few and the quality is less than good. When reruns aired on CBN in the 1980s, it was only episodes produced between 1953 - 58.

Okay thanks for the info. I'm hoping this show will come to DVD one day (in either complete season sets or a complete series set). Which is why I was asking. I wanted to see if it was possible to get all 8 seasons. I'd be fine with the kinescopes for the first two seasons since it's the only way to get them. Although I imagine if a company released them, they'd start with season 3.
