Talking "Hooneymoons are for the lucky"......

I thought I have seen every episode, but not this one. Did anyone see this episode? I thought it was just the cutest one. Dick and Mary are really good actors, they make rob and laura, the most conviencing characters......It was funny how the honeymoon suite had signs everywhere, like "No rocking after 8pm" or Rob wearing those fake eyelashes "classic" and in the end, the sweetest thing, when Rob sweeps Laura off her feet.

I love this episode. It is right up there in my favorite top five. I can never choose just one favorite, so I have about 5 that all tie for my favorite. This is my favorite flashback, though.

I know I've seen this episode. I'm just trying to place it. Wasn't it the one where they get married, but rob can't get a pass to be off for the honeymoon, so he leaves laura there in that goofy little hotel all by herself. But he finds a way to get away, somehow. Does he dress up like a girl? That'd explain the eyelashes comment. It's a great episode, anyway!

Thought so. Now that I think about it, several episodes of Dick van Dyke dealt with marriage. You have the actual honeymoon episode, the one where he leaves her at the altar multiple times for several different reasons, and the one where he finds out laura lied about her age, and they have to get married all over again. Are there any more?

Although not directly related to marriage, there is the one where Rob tries to get two 3 day passes, one for his honeymoon, and one to go home and tell his other fiancé that he can't marry her. Then there is the two-parter when Stacey is there (the second time) and wants help on how to purpose to the woman he wants to marry. There are also many flashback episodes about Rob and Laura's courtship days, and the early years after they got married. Those are the only others I can think of.

The show had such great writers and actors. Taking one subject, and finding so many different things to do with it. And every episode is a masterpiece...

I totally agree. That's what makes it my favorite sitcom. It's just so good.

It's definitely my foavorite, too. I've never seen a show that can equal it. THe show just seems to have a certain magic about it, I guess you could say.

I wish there were some way to go back in time and create more episodes. I understand why they stopped when they did, but 158 just aren't enough for me. I cried when I saw the last episode. I could have watched twice that many and still not be tired of the show.

Wew...I sure did misspell favorite. or at least typed it really badly. There are still a few episodes I have yet to see. SO are you an original fan? I fell in love with the show when it started coming on tv land. It's way before my time. But I still think it's the best.

No, I'm not an original fan...it was also quite a bit before my time. I'm only now in my 20s. I also became a fan (more of a freak) when we first got TV Land a little over a year ago. From the first day I saw it, I immediately set my VCR to record it every day. It took me about 8 months to get every single episode (TV Land occasionally skips). My roommate thought I had flipped out I was so addicted. Now I'm better, although I still watch it a lot.
